((Is it dramatic enough?))
Zenobia rested upon a cloud, drifting along aimlessly through the skies she watched as she passed over the small buildings and warm lights of the port town. The Sun lowered nearby, causing the cerulean waters to faintly reflect the orange light. As she surveyed the lands she noticed a figure walking along the coast, one that seemed far too familiar to be a stranger. Her left eye brightened shining through the eye patch with a crimson light as she focused in on him. It was Eden, of course, it was. With the recent events she hadn't often encountered him, but it made sense for him to be there, the island wasn't far from the horizon, the place where their two realms collided with one another. She found his challenging persona to be more entertaining than most of the other gods, he was one f the very few who she didn't loathe having to communicate with. It was a pity he wasn't on her side. Silently she lifted away from her cloud and made her way to where the sun was setting from, aside from her realms of rule she was known for one thing, her entrances. She stayed hidden from sight as she forced the sun to lower slightly quicker, but not enough that her influence would be obvious. The sky near the setting sun was filled with a warm orange, a sunset more beautiful than any before, a true gift from Zenobia, goddess of the heavens and opposite to it a myriad of glittering stars beginning to emerge in the coming shadows. She began to glide down in front of the sun, making her silhouette greatly visible. A warm breeze flowed through the air from behind Eden bearing a feeling of peace and causing her outfit to flutter calmly in the air as she descended from the very heavens themselves. "In this raging storm of war, a moment of peace is rare... But beautiful..." She began her voice echoing over the water, filling the entire town with an enchanting melodic tone. "Something to be held onto where old friends made enemies can steal a fleeting second of Serenity and bask in the warm light of a dream long forgotten..." She continued, the reverberation fading as she got closer to Eden. Her figure was graced by the sun's light, stealing away any of its imposing appearances and replacing it with one of pure elegance. Eventually, her feet touched the surface of the water, creating a ripple that spread until reaching the sand, stilling the waters. With each step closer a smaller ripple arose under her feet. "One that we should never have let go of..." She spoke finally fading away into just her words, free of the extra effects. "Don't you agree?" She asked him calmly, a very faint smile on her face. Her emerald eye looked him over, she still stood small ways off, she would await him to approach her as a gesture of peace and respect. Her lance in hand seemed more like a beautiful sceptre as it's golden form glittered in the light. This was one of those moments in which she truly did appear to be angelic, fitting in with what many people believed to be her to be. Her blonde locks flowed in the air as she looked at him.

Her smile softened somewhat at the sight of his bow, but she displayed no other expression of enjoyment. Zenobia hadn't need to even look at the sunset. it was the exact image of what she wanted it to be in her mind and therefore she already knew what it looked like. "It is no trouble, I thought that it only seemed suitable for such an occasion, it has been too long." She explained kindly, as she watched the fish pass by under her feet. "This is one of the few places I still enjoy..." She told him distantly. "In this struggle for power these little fish swim not worried about any of it." She added, contentedly. I truth she did prefer it, but as usual, she was being a touch dramatic about it. In the end, she would finish it off all the same, but she would enjoy it for the time being. In some ways she envied the fish, they could die, unlike she who had to exist through the end of all things. They hadn't a job or power struggles, they just lived and were appreciated for it. "I take it you don't mind it here either?" She asked curiously, carefully and thoughtfully tilting her head to the side as she said it.

Zenobia couldn't help, but broaden her smile, she, the ice cold mistress of pessimism found his smile to be somewhat infectious. "This time of day is always my favourite for things like this, the sky and the sea seem to work together to create something beautiful." She sighed as she slowly kneeled down to graze a passing fish with her free hand. She rose back to her feet once it had swum away, but she was happier than usual. "It really is a gift, I agree." She decided afterwards, siding with his thoughts on the topic.

Zenobia's smile remained on her face, but her eyes looked saddened. The last time she had ever smiled fully and been complimented for it was far before this world even existed. She knew he didn't mean too much by it, but it was nice to hear. She couldn't bring herself to say much, it had been too long since she had been complimented on a smile and all that she could think of was the many other worlds she had lived through before her attitude changed, the ones in which she was known as benevolent and loving. It was by her very own hand that it all ended. "Thank you..." She responded bluntly, not sure what else there was to be said. She looked down at the fish trying to distract herself from her thoughts. She sat down on her knees atop the water's surface causing it to once again ripple, distorting the suns reflection. She laid her lance across her lap, as she watched the swim passed beneath her.

Zenobia stiffened at his touch slight pulling back her head, her cheeks lightly dusted with pink, but beyond that, her expression remained the same. Her mind was filled with thoughts about why he was being so kind to her, they may have gotten along, but something about this was different it was a sweeter moment. His comment was sweet but only added to her slight perplexity. She was prepared to end everything once and for all, finishing of all cycles of creation and destruction, life and death and all that. Zenobia wanted it all gone, but for some reason, she doubted her ability to bring an end to him. She watched the figures absent-mindedly, unsure of how to respond to him, they were elegant and fascinating... She then acted on an impulse something she hadn't done in - literally, forever. From the sky, she plucked, but a few stars, the constellation of Queen Cassiopeia danced with his figure alongside Ursas major and minor. "If I were to be seen doing this..." she muttered, disappointed in the vulnerability she was showing. She knew had it been anyone else she likely would have been forced to leave out of fear or plain old distaste, but Eden didn't seem to mind her presence.
((Sorry... I'm only awake right now because I accidentally ordered food with shrimp and since I hate shrimp and it makes me absurdly nauseous, I feel like death... It's really early in the morning and I have a plane to catch later so my writing quality sucks right now... She's taking them right out of the sky for the time being and shrinking them down so that as little figures they can interact with his.))

((I love seafood, but I loathe shrimp, it happened to be a part of this seafood dish I got for dinner and I didn't know it had shrimp... Oh well, I'm starting to feel better now so it's over with.))

was happy, but that was not okay, she was having fun and that was not allowed, she was being truly kind which was forbidden and Her cold exterior was cracking which simply couldn't happen and the final straw was the figures hitting her, she wanted to laugh, but could not show such vulnerability. Every part of her yearned to laugh and for once to be herself, but she didn't want to be so easily changed. She immediately thrust out her arm in front of her and swept her hand through the air, bringing an end to all the fun little things they had been doing returning them to their previous states as the sky roared with thunder. The sun now lowered further gave a red light fitting of her more sullen mood. Her large hat hid her face and the sky lit up with blinding blue light as lightning fired through the air. It was aimed to separate the two of them, but Zenobia instead used herself as a lightning rod, becoming enveloped in the powerful bolt. It caused her to flinch but no more, though it was enough to prevent her from laughing. Everything settled, clearing the skies and she lifted her head showing her now emotionless expression. "My apologies." She said blandly. She had no idea what had come over her, laughing, smiling and being nice, but it worried her. She stood herself back up trying to recompose herself. "It all had t end eventually anyway..." She muttered solemnly.

Zenobia closed her eye for a moment and took a few deep breaths the breeze carrying fresh air to her. "You know..." she began, her tone somewhat saddened. It was clear something was bothering her, she could try as much as she wanted to, but she wasn't fully reintegrated with her usual icy self. "We don't have to be on different sides." She told him as she opened her eye. She didn't want to have to fight him, if he'd join her side he'd be able to live longer and she'd still be able to free herself of the constraints of existence.
Zenobia sighed, she didn't want to have to continue, but she knew she had no other choice. "You join me and you can survive all this mess. Regardless of how this turns out it's not good, My side wins and everything is reduced to ash, your side wins the world is left in recession, every living being left in ruins, squabbling over who gets to eat the last clover. One side ends all suffering at the cost of all life, whilst the other allows suffering to continue yet they will all proceed to eventually die anyway." She explained trying to put it in a way that may appeal to him more than it would if she explained it at face value.
((Vlad the Impaler is a good role model you know, having a nice meal while watching the slow and painful impalements of about two thousand people at once and making parents eat their own children, truly wondrous, does great things for the conscience you know.))

((Together they inspired Dracula! He was decapitated, she was imprisoned, she bathed them in honey and milk for the insects and he posted corpses out front his castle, he washed and supposedly drank blood, she bathed in blood, He nailed turbans to people heads and she tortured people, I feel like they'd have gotten along well.))
Zenobia looked at him, her gaze not faltering, "Of course you can, you are strong willed and powerful, what would stop you?" She asked him inquisitively. She wasn't about to let him go without at least trying to make him change his mind. "I don't want to have to be there for your end anytime soon, I'd prefer that you live as long as possible and I am trying to make that possible!" she told him seriously wanting him to join. Not only would it be easier for her, but he was powerful enough, controlling the seas, that he'd be able to play a part in the victory of the destruction. She didn't see what reason he had for not accepting her offer, from how she phrased it should have seemed like the best option.

Zenobia looked down, disappointed, "What good is there in a reconstructed world..." She muttered, her face now hidden behind the brim of her hat. In her mind, it would only be a pale imitation, it could never compare to the original. "That's all any of this is, a mimicry of a mimicry of a mimicry." She told him coldly, her tone resentful. "I have seen everything be destroyed, more times than could possibly be counted! Everything that has ever existed has seen an end by my hand!" She shouted angrily, her face still masked by her hat. "Let me finish this all off once and for all, it doesn't matter who wins you'll just be delaying the end... I remember the very first world ever, simple yet pleasant, the second, darker than the darkest night, the third full of life, the fourth desolate and the fifth the most beautiful and intricate of them all. Every one of them met an end just as every one of them that followed, what makes you think this world deserves any more than any of the others did?" She asked him, her tone almost offended. So many of those other worlds meant so much more to her than this one, the first being something truly special, one where even she was still, but a young goddess. That world had those she could consider her siblings in some sense, but she had to end all of them, yet even then she remained kind. Things like that happened over and over and it all built up and she boiled over with the death of one particular person. To her, this world was nothing more than another thing that would have to be ended. "Please, don't make me have to draw out this suffering to which I have been forever bound!" She requested now looking up, her eyes filled with genuine sorrow.

((Ooh, I just had the idea of possibly having Zenobia switch sides at the climax of the war. She'd get all conflicted during some big battle and end up frying her own side with lightning!))
Zenobia couldn't help, but to admire his dedication to his own beliefs. Despite this, it hurt her she didn't want to fight him at any point, but if she had to she would. "I see..." She responded looking back down at the waters beneath her. It didn't help much, after all, the sea was just another reminder of him. She drifted closer to Eden but stopped less than a meter from him. She questioned her own actions, but even she could not hold back some feelings. She quickly traversed the small distance and hugged him. Zenobia feared she may not get such a moment again so she chose to take advantage of it whilst she still could.

Eden felt Zenobia's slender arms wrap around him, and his eyes widened an inch. He did not think that she had ever done such a thing in a long time, it surprised him. But he turned himself around, twisting a bit awkwardly under her arms but wrapped his own around her, her soft, delicate body touching his fully. He was sizes bigger, taller and stronger in muscle than her, making her body dwarf a bit under his. "I'm sorry, that I am not joining your side, I know you're probably happier there, but I'm happy here, on the side where I can do some good for the world, I wish you would join as much as you want me to join the dark side but it wouldn't feel good to me." He murmured, brushing his hand over her head, trailing down her long, silky hair to stop at the small of her back, pressing her to him to embrace her fully, making it a warm, inviting her to not be afraid of embracing him. This wouldn't happen often, or at all, likely because of the war that would come down on them raining darkness and blood over the land. He felt the water brush his side, already cool from the long gone sun. The wariness of her made him feel calmer as if he could finally think clearly. (( omgurd I'm such a romantic ))
"You will do what you think is right, I will neither support nor object, I can only hope and wish that you change your mind. " She told him quietly, dismissing the use of the term dark side, something that in her mind seemed far too cliche. The world went beyond light and dark, it was all just differing shades of grey there were only a select few who could truly fit into either black or white. She was momentarily uncomfortable by being pulled in so close to him, she wasn't used to being in such close proximity to someone. She felt weak, something she didn't usually welcome, but she simply succumbed to it, not feeling up to trying to pull herself away, after all, he was physically stronger anyway so she likely wouldn't be able to anyway so she did the only thing she felt she could. She held tighter. It wasn't until this moment that she realised how much taller and how much larger he really was than her, she couldn't help, but feel a little embarrassed by the form she chose to appear in as it really lacked the presence that he possessed.

Zenobia began to feel at ease, mentally she was still trying to distract herself, after all, why would anything change after eternities spent waiting for a chance like this to finally end her endless, torturous confinement? Something within her was fighting to change her mind, but she could not wholeheartedly choose to make such a big turn around in her life, but it was at that exact time at that exact place that a seed was planted. After eternities spent withering her heart became something different, others could claim to have hearts of stone, but in the end, it was never true. At one point or another, their heart was once organic material, it had merely withered, but when you live as long as Zenobia it decays and dies, but such is how life works. With death comes a chance to start anew, her heart once abundant in all things, was left as a rich soil, primed for growth. With time the seed would grow and bloom into something stronger, more beautiful and even more fruitful. For once the stars gleamed brighter, not with the same cold light, but with a warm light that welcomed beings to travel amongst them and explore. Everything in the sky was different, ever so slightly, but noticeably different. She inhaled deeply, hoping to stay where she was for as long as she could. Everything was beautiful, calm, free of all the things for which she held disdain. She wasn't intent on letting him go and had decided that unless he did so first she would stay there for the duration of this world which without her final say would never fully end.

Zenobia felt partially empty when he finally let her go. She feared that it would never happen again, but she did her best to maintain her composure. She slowly reached out to take his hand clasping in loosely as she looked at her hand in his. It seemed alien to her, but something about it was right. She then held on tightly, straightening out her hat with the other hand. She nodded hesitantly, wondering what exactly he wished to show her. She was worried that this was where things would take a turn for the worst, but at the same time, she wanted to trust him so she went along with him, praying to, well, herself, that it wouldn't be anything bad.

Zenobia stayed close to him, being just above the water was fine, but in the end, she was a sky goddess so being underwater was something unusual to her so she clung to his side as though her very life was completely dependent on him. She glanced around at all the fish, they illuminated the darkness of the water, but she couldn't see whatever it was he wished to show her. "Please stay near..." She requested quietly, not wanting him to go far. It made her more comfortable, be it that she was above or beneath the water. Despite this, it did still worry her that she suddenly felt so attached to him.

"Eden...' She began looking around at the beautiful scene before her. It was gorgeous, she had never seen such a side of the seas, she was used to seeing it from above, it was completely new to her. "It's beautiful..." She continued, barely noticing him taking her hands. She hadn't expected this, but it erased her worry entirely. "I've never seen anything like this before..." She added absent-mindedly. "I love it." She declared, before looking down at the sand and pebbles at her feet. She then looked up gratefully, "Thank you for showing me this." She said politely, trying not to come off as overly emotional.

Zenobia poked the water, watching the water ripple all around them. She smiled as the fish swam away from where her finger broke the surface. She then stepped back a bit until her back bumped up against his chest. Her face reddened, but she was too engrossed in her surroundings to do much else. "Eden, we likely won't get to do anything like this again..." She began, saddened by the thought. "I'm glad we have gotten to do this together even if it is only this once..." She told him, committing every moment to memory so that she could never forget it. From the sights that surrounded them to the feeling of his chest on her back, she didn't want to lose any of it.

She forced the butt of her lance into the ground so that it would stand on its own without her having to will it into the air. She then placed her hands on top of his reassuring him that she was fine with what he was doing. The feeling of his hands underneath hers made her feel special, as though someone truly appreciated her for once. She was not being hailed as either the sky goddess or the goddess of the end, but as Zenobia Apollyon, a person. She mimicked is swaying motion falling into the pattern with him as she tilted her head back to look him in the eyes, "Then we shall have to cherish this in the case that we are not so lucky." She responded simply.

Zenobia closed her eye for a moment. "I suppose I can..." She sighed, finding comfort in his arms. She rested her head back on his chest, watching all the fish swim past. "But only if you promise that you will stay with me." She added on quite seriously. She didn't want him to leave her, at least not yet, too many things had left her too soon and she was not about to let him be one of those things. She wouldn't let him leave until she was ready to leave herself. The scarlet light that usually shone faintly from under her eye patch seemed to be impossible to see, lessened by her feelings of serenity.
