I’m coming back in as one of the main mods of this group as of Sunday night. I finally got a new job and everything is good. Meaning I have more time for the group😌 I’m excited to be back.
Also does anything need doing for January or is that sorted? I’ll go on my computer later on today and do a little tidying up too so if there’s anything that needs doing let me know and I’ll do it then:)

There are in another group I'm in. So just checking.

I’ve got a 12 hour shift tomorrow so I might not be on much if at all but the day after I’m off so I’ll definitely be on then😌

Should we do that soon?

We could do a Release Date challenge where you can read any book that came out in January through March (any year) plus new releases could be a category. Maybe add something about black history month in the categories or historical even with Martin Luther King Day and black history month?
What if we did an ABCs challenge? Where you have to try to read books that begin with the ABCs or even added in there author's names? And it was like the bingo challenge where you had to read all letters at least twice before reading letters again?
Or a page count challenge where the more pages your book has the more points you get? Maybe with some type of categories to follow as well?
What if we did two big teams instead of a couple smaller teams? That has been a thought on my mind as well. It just seems like a lot of people sign up and then don't participate. Maybe it'd be easier to have two big teams?

Can't believe I forgot about the Quarterly Challenge!
Usually we don't do teams for Quarterly Challenges, but maybe for January's challenge I will make bigger teams. Two or three might be good, depending on how many people we have signed up. Particularly with how many new people we have joining that one, so we don't know as much of what to expect since we don't know them as well.

I can think of some rules and post what I come up with.
But definitely:
- new releases in the months of January - March 2018
- any book released in the months of January - March
Maybe:
- historic novel
- book set at New Years
- book with Valentines Day and/or St. Patty's Day holiday
- book with that starts with L O V E or L U C K or S P R I N G
- new to your author
- book over 500 pages
- last book in a series
- book with a red cover
- book with a green cover
That's what I got right now?

I'm also at work right now. I'm gonna write down some stuff for the Release Date Chellenge. And hopefully we can get that up and running with a sign up page soon.

1. read a book that will be released in Jan-March 2018
2. read a book released in the months January - March (any year)
3. read a book with an author whose name (first or last) starts with J, F, M
4. read a book that has a couple (2 people) on the cover
5. read a book with a red or pink cover
6. read a book with a green or white cover
7. read a book with a hot beverage on the cover
8. read a book with a bird on the cover
9. read a book with a heart on the cover or in the title
10. read a book with a clover on the cover or in the title
11. read a book that starts with LOVE, LUCK, or SPRING

15. read a book that features a love triangle
16. read a book featuring an African American
17. read a book that features a protest, civil rights issue, etc
18. read a book about a war
19. read a book categorized historic
20. read a book categorized horror/thriller/mystery
21. read a book categorized romance
22. read a book tagged 'sports'
23. read a new to you author
24. read the last book in a series
25. read a book over 500 pages
26. read a book with a genre out of your comfort zone
27. read a with a female MC
28. read a book about a hobby you have or want to start
29. read a book not originally published in your 1st language
30. read a book about a powerful figure or someone in politics
Any body got any more ideas for some more categories? I tried to think of some that would correspond with the months of the challenge and the holidays that are in those months. But I could only think of 19.

1. Read a book featuring an African American?
2. Read one where there is a protest, civil rights issue, etc?
3. Read a book about a war? (For Robert E. Lee's Birthday Jan 16.)
Apparently January is national hobby month so maybe
4. Read a book about a hobby you have or want to start?
It's also apparently hot tea month so maybe read a book with a hot beverage on the cover?
There is international mother tongue day in February. Maybe one where you read a book not originally published in English???
President's day is also in February. Maybe one where you read about a powerful figure or someone in politics?

But those are definitely all good ones to me!

But those are def..."
I wondered about it too but I think it's okay. :)

That's 28! We only need 2 more! Lol.

National bird day is January 5th. So "read a book with a bird on the cover"
And the Superbowl is in February. So "read a book centered around sports"
Sound good?
Now the rules, that I can't think of. Would we just use the same rules as all the other challenges? And the same point systems?

Usually we use the same rules. You'd have to ask Alaina about the points though probably as she is the one who does them the most right now. :)

I think giving two points for the release date categories is a good idea since it's the release date chellenge

Me too! This is my first time doing it. So just wanna make sure I'm doing everything correct. :D
CP; wanna let me know if there is anything else I should do before we post it? Also, how was the movie!? I have been dying to see it! I need to get to the theater soon so I can see it in Imax! (:

And honestly...I wasn't that impressed with the movie, but I'm like that sometimes so I wouldn't let that bother you ;) There were parts that I enjoyed.

Okay, I'll post it for sign up. (:
I am a huge Star Wars fan. Not anything crazy like I must go to midnight premieres or have Star Wars posters all over my walls. But it is one series that I MUST go and see in Imax. Same with all Marvel or DC movies. I'm a huge movie nut. So I never let anyones review keep me from seeing a movie. Especially critics. Those guys could say a movie was horrible and I could've loved it. Ya know?

Looks good. I made the planning/chat thread since I like to plan as soon as the challenge goes up. :)
