So it's one point per 200 pages? Wouldn't it just be easier to give one point for every 100 pages read?

It's dividing by 200. So the pages divided by 200, plus whatever category point they get (if any) and buddy read points.

It makes sense after it's pointed out but before that it was lost on me.

You know, Jackie was the one originally doing that over a year ago and I had to ask her how she calculated it. And I have a math degree! 😂

I was making it really complicated. I go the same thing, but I was setting everything up with equivalent fractions and solving them. Ha.

I just updated scores for the monthly challenge.

I was thinking of revamping the Heroes challenge from last year for one of the upcoming months. Thoughts? I was going to add some heroes, change around some categories, and have it work better for a team challenge.

Also, for the last quarterly challenge I was thinking we could do a seasons/holiday themed challenge.

Yes, that's a good idea. I thought Jackie was going to send it to me, but I haven't heard from her since she messaged and asked...I'm trying to come up with challenges for the next couple of months.

I've started on a Back to School challenge that could work for September. :)

What ideas do you have for that. If we don't hear from Jackie we can go with that.

I put up the monthly challenge. I copied a bit from the June Challenge and a bit from the August challenge. :)

Not that I can think of. We already have a thread for the September BOTM. We don't have a new quarterly challenge yet. I don't think we have any new books to review. ^-^

Elizabeth posted the September BOTM thread back in July so I don't know how active the thread is now but as far as I know she hasn't made the poll yet. :)

Maybe just add that thread to the message so people can get in last minute suggestions if they don't know about it, especially since we have gained so many new members.

Well I think this is what we still need to do:

Names for teams (We were thinking we'd use names from well known schools in books. Like Hogwarts) We'd probably need 5 just to be sure we have enough.

We need to divide the participants into teams.

If you'd like you could try to find lists for people that I could add to the main challenge since some of them are on the hard side.

That's all I can think of right now. :)

And then scores once we start. If a few of us try to check occasionally we should be able to keep up with them. :)

I agree with Hogwarts, Camp Half Blood, then I don't mind either Forks, Oasis, or Battle School. We shouldn't have two teams that start with C so I don't think we should use Constance Billard School for Girls. :)

So I think most of us agree with at least Harry Potter and Vampire Academy so that's at least two. We just need 3 more that we agree on. :)
