I changed the two month challenge. I think it was supposed to be April and May.

Holy cow the superhero challenge has a ton of categories! Lol. I have so many books that can fit those categories so I'm super excited! Lol.

@Alaina, in the email it says the superhero challenge was in April/May.

When I first joined Buddy Readers' Corner about two years ago, they did a challenge where teams tried to beat the moderators, reading anything they wanted. What do you guys think of us trying something similar?

Would we want it to be a monthly challenge or a quarterly challenge? Probably a month right?

Yeah, I'm thinking a month would be good for that one. And depending on how many people want to participate, probably just have a couple of big teams. If all the mods are going to be around and reading, too small of a team wouldn't be good.

Depending on how many people sign up I think we should do two big teams.

That's what I was thinking. Maybe we should do that for June, as our anniversary challenge.

Yessssss! That sounds so good! And they’ll definitely have a difficult time trying to beat our score because I feel like we all read so much. I think that’ll be soo fun!

Rae from Keep Up The Good Work has posted a book for points that is 99 pages. I'm gonna give her the point because it's only one page off from 100. :)

Good call. Those are always a little odd to deal with.

Is there like a cut off? Like we say it's gotta be 100 pages. But say if it's actually within like 5 pages from 100 would we still count it?

I figured because it's only one page that it really wasn't a big deal.

for the February challenge: when is says the book has to have the letters L, O, V, E in the title - do you mean the title has to have all of the letters with the title?

Yes, all letters.

No, we don't have a specific cut off on pages, but I do think within a few is ok. It doesn't come up often enough to cause too many issues.

Would you mind figuring out her page count with your formula?

She says the page location is 8549.

Just wondering if we are going to do with the February challenge what we did for this month with less teams and more people on each team? It looks like we have a lot so far signed up and it's only the 16th! :D

What do you guys think about team size? Do you think the bigger ones work better?

I sent those with google docs an idea for June's challenge.

I like the June challenge. I did see that you added the DNFed books. Are we going to count DNFed books as a book read or just pages? If we're gonna do just pages we should maybe specify that?

It is just pages, but since the challenge is a page count I didn't think specifying it would be necessary.

Yes. I was going to ask about that. Do you think that is the way to go, or should we do something different for buddy reads? I just thought that a straight page count would make it more straightforward.

I saw the email about the June doc but I just kind of glanced at it ☹️ I got so busy with work and now I’m out on lunch. I’ll have to look at it and get back at you. I’m good with whatever size you guys want for teams.

How many people do we have that are signed up for a team? I was thinking of maybe doing four teams to keep things a little more manageable.

For team, I think there’s 29 right now

I think 4 teams would be good. Right now that’s seven people a team. And we’ll only have more join throughout the rest of the month, hopefully.

@CP, I think doubling buddy read points is a good idea for that June challenge. Hopefully it’ll make more people want to buddy read in this group. I don’t think we have as much buddy reading in here as we could. Ya know?

Yeah, that sounds like a good number for a team.

And yes, I would like for us to increase our buddy reads.
