C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Right, we usually just do the page points in the total column. So the points would be the number of books read.

okay :)

message 153: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments Yes, what Courtney said. The five points for every 1000 pages comes in once you divide the page number by 200. Does this make sense?

Yes!! Sorry if I forgot to respond to understanding that!!

I have like a super random question but how do you guys format the table to look so small and neat?? Mine just look chunky. Is there a formatting secret?!? :(

message 155: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Yes, let me see if I can explain it. You use html tags like for spoilers, but instead of saying spoiler you put "pre" does that make sense?

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments It's OK, I had to figure it out as well and Cortney is really good at all of that stuff.

message 159: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Yay! Glad you got it. :) It makes everything so much nicer to look at.

message 160: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments All scores are updated as of now.

message 161: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments What do we want to do for the last quarterly challenge?

message 162: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments I think Bookbuyer and I already put something together for that one that is kind of season themed.

Also, we were thinking that we might want to do a combined November/December challenge or at least a fairly simple challenge.

message 163: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (jackiegirl02) | 4614 comments That sounds great! If you all have something for the quarterly challenge that's perfect. And I think that's a good idea in keeping the last two months simple. Maybe we could do a page count challenge with some categories for November and some for December, kind of like what we did in August.

message 164: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Yeah, something along those lines might be good. We were also thinking it might be better not to have it as teams for those. But we can talk about the details more.

I'm going to try and come up with some ideas for future months. The Superhero challenge I am working on, so we could even spread that out then if we wanted. Another playlist challenge could be fun. And I would like to play around with the resolutions challenge a bit more.

Oooh season themed sounds like a lot of fun!

message 166: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments What do you guys think about doing a bingo challenge for November/December? That might be a good challenge for that since it would allow people more time to finish it. We could even do each row it's own theme or something.

That sounds like fun!! Like 2 descriptions for each box (like YA buddy readers harry potter one??) or 1 description? I love themed challenges <3 :)

Is it bad... that I feel really bad for my team (St. Vladimir) because I'm the only one that's really posting reviews :(

I hope I'm not scaring them away

Well you are the biggest reader of that group. I tried to make it so that each team had a 'big' reader. I think the others will post soon. :)

Since this group doesn't have serious, medium or fun you kind of have to treat every team as a fun team. :/

I find that the average books read in this group with a few exceptions is about 2-3. So I would expect about a book a week from most of your teammates. And since school has started they might be holding on to reviews till they have time to post. :)

haha that is true. I tried that today and it was so much easier doing the reviews and then typing the information for the challenges.

message 176: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Yes, most of the readers in this group only read a few books a month. And sometimes participation is a little all over the place. But it's still fun. :)

I was thinkinf we would try to do categories for each square, yes. That way there are more options and for those who go through it once they would have another set to start.

I agree. I liked the the second options in Harry Potter. It makes a bit harder for us mods to track but as a reader it was a blessing. :)

That's true but it is called challenge corner ;) haha sorry I was laughing while I typed that!

I mean if its a simple scoring system it shouldn't be too bad. Plus with a word document or something to help keep track of everything...or excel maybe? Then with who is available to work on scores the teams could be split between a mod or two.

Sorry if I'm not making sense at all! Too much coffee for me today :(

message 180: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments I usually try to create some kind of tracking post either on the page or in another thread, but a word or excel document could be useful.

I have the scoring templates for the challenge this month on a word document and I just switch the numbers on that. Then I copy and paste onto the team threads.

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments I know we talked about it, but do we have challenges ready for October and quarterly challenge? If not, I can come up with something right now. I just can't remember what I've talked to everyone about...

message 183: by Alaina (new)

Alaina (ameserole) | 81936 comments Mod
I honestly have no idea if you all decided something for October. I know you have discussed something for Nov/Dec.

message 184: by Alaina (new)

Alaina (ameserole) | 81936 comments Mod
Maybe we could do something based off of Halloween costumes? or movies? But that's if you didn't discuss anything about the challenge.

message 185: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments I can't remember now either. Hopefully Jackie or Bookbuyer remembers what we talked about. I know I talked to both of them at various times, but now don't know what we decided. I might need to go back through some old messages.

I can change it if it sounds weird. It look fine to me but I'm weak when it comes to grammar. :(

message 197: by C.P. (new)

Same. Both seem fine. But I've seen 'new to you author' so often on here that it seems more correct. :/

message 199: by Anna 'Bookbuyer' (new)

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) | 9905 comments I've put up the quarterly challenge. I also archived the Awards challenge since it was getting a bit cluttered in the quarterly folder.

We also need to put up the BOTM poll sometime soon. I don't know what the time line is for that though so if you need me to do that I can. :)

message 200: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 8238 comments Great! It looks great! I'll let you know about the BotM. I think we usually do that a little later than thw challenges.
