Kathy Broyles | 572 comments Having trouble getting through your to read shelf? Can't decide what to read next? Would you like someone to choose a book for you to read? This is a monthly challenge where participants get paired up randomly and their partner picks a book for them to read. If this sounds like fun to you, welcome to this month's Pick It For Me challenge!

Sign ups end on the 24th. Partners will be assigned shortly thereafter. Book choices for your partners are to be given on or before the 1st. Please check back often during that time to be sure that you don't miss anything!

Guidelines
* Sign up below with your to-read shelf (or the shelf you prefer your picks to come from)
* Please be sure that your profile is set to public, or that you friend your partner so that they can see your shelves. - IF YOUR PROFILE IS NOT SET TO PUBLIC, PLEASE PROVIDE A LIST FOR YOUR PARTNER TO CHOOSE FROM

If you do not plan to participate or are unsure if you can pick a novel for your partner, PLEASE, PLEASE do not sign up. It is very difficult to re-pair individuals once we are underway.

After your partner selects a book for you, be sure and check back in each week or so to let us know your progress. Tell us if you like the book, love it or think it is just so-so.

I'm torn between 2 books on your shelf. 'Salem's Lot by Stephen King and The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger . They both are excellent.

I'm not certain if you picked the books from my to read list cause I don't have Salem's Lot on it. Looks like you picked it from Nicole's list.

My two pics for you are, Poet Of The Wrong Generation and/or Beneath a Scarlet Sky

Kathy Broyles | 572 comments Delitealex wrote: "KatyB I pick Tinker for you I remember enjoying it when I read it"

I saw Wen Spencer at a library conference a couple of years ago and "Tinker" was actually an autographed freebie given to everyone who attended her talk. I just haven't been able to get around to reading it, but it is next up on my list. Thanks for picking for me!

I just might have to check it out as well. However I currently have 2 books going already. I'm hoping I can at least knock out 1 of 2 this weekend.

message 43: by Kathy (new)

Kathy Broyles | 572 comments I finished up one of the books selected for me today "Victoria" and started "Tinker".

Victoria was very good up until the courtship with Albert. I just don't think it would have happened that way. Anyway, I hated for it to end. Maybe there will be another on Victoria beginning where this one left off.

message 44: by R (new)

R Z | 60 comments Finished Night early (I was going to use either it or Hamlet as my final 'one word title challenge' so— two birds, one stone).

At this point, I don't really have words for what I'm feeling about it. I gave it four stars, but words are just not coming to me at the moment. I think I will re-read it in a couple of weeks, and maybe then I will have reflected enough to form something.

Right now, all I have to say is that it was visceral. Not in the way that is over-explained, or necessarily even all emotional, but when I was reading it I could correspond these moments with how (in the introduction) he described the rest of his life.

I wish I could read Yiddish, so I could read the original, and not just the American translation (not that there's anything wrong with it, I just feel as though with most translations, they are served better in their native language.)

Thank you, Swaroop, for giving me the kick in the ass to read this; I know I would have chosen to just re-read Hamlet for ease, if up to myself.

Go for it! I'm almost done with White Hot (Hidden Legacy, #2) by Ilona Andrews now too :'D and will probably read Wildfire (Hidden Legacy, #3) by Ilona Andrews next.

I have an Ilona Andrews problem hahaha

Have you read the whole Kate Daniels series? If not I would recommend the next book in her series that you haven't read yet.

But if you are tired and need an Ilona break, then I would choose A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses #3) by Sarah J. Maas. I'm planning to read this book myself soon. :-)

I have two left in the Kate Daniels series. I don't need an Ilona Andrews break so much as I should slow down and savor the last few published books I haven't read yet.

SJM will be perfect!
