Hi!

Can anyone please change the cover for an author friend, called Susanne Matthews? She has 4 editions of a book called The Captain's Promise, and she wants her latest cover (the one from the June, 2014 edition) set as a cover for each edition. Can you please change her covers? Thank you in advance!

Each edition has its own cover and will keep it.
However, your friend can set a default edition that will be displayed on her profile.

The kindle edition cover of The Glass Sentence by S.E. Grove is inconsistent with the cover I downloaded & the one on the Amazon page. ASIN: B00G3L12PC

They appear to be the same cover on your Author page and on Amazon.

But not on the edition page - there are 2 different covers there & the kindle edition is the wrong one.

Hi pml, are you the author? The cover currently on the kindle edition was uploaded back in December of 2013. The same cover image was also uploaded to a paperback edition in March. I should also note that the paperback edition has an invalid, truncated ISBN:

Do you know where that cover image came from? Was it used on Advanced Reader Copies and/or to promote your book prior to publication?

Also, is there a paperback edition of your book? If so, what its ISBN13?

Nope, not the author, just a kindle ebook buyer trying to match her library (& yeah, I like the cover on Amazon a lot better - the one listed bothers me for more than the inaccuracy).
As far as I can tell there are no paperbacks available. The Glass Sentence just came out in hardcover (& on kindle) a couple weeks ago. Maybe the cover was changed before it hit the street?

I need to remove the book cover that was used when I release book through createspace that version of book is no longer available I have the other book cover uploaded but can't remove other cover. Need help

Leon, as I explained the last time, we don't change covers on Goodreads. We also do not delete out of print editions.

However, as the author, you do have the ability to change which edition of the book is the default, which will come up in searches by title and show on your author profile. Here's how: https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/3...

I checked the Penguin Publishing site, which owns Viking Children's - there hasn't been a paperback edition published. Only hardcover and ebook editions. The kindle edition does not have this cover, nor does the hardcover. Is there no way to change the kindle edition to the correct cover?

We are still talking about S.E. Grove's The Glass Sentence (kindle cover), right? 'Cause that link to "last time" was about a new edition of a different book altogether. I'm just hoping for the official book cover for ASIN: B00G3L12PC

Pml, there are a couple of different conversations going at once on this thread. I'm on my mobile now, so editing is pretty difficult for me. Someone needs to make you an alternate cover edition with the correct cover from Amazon for the kindle, and that spurious paperback needs to be deleted. If no one gets this tonight, I'll get it tomorrow.

I have just photographed the cover for this book...

The edition I have however is a bit muddling - on the title page it says "Virgin Books", but on the back cover it says www.eburypublishing.co.uk.

I have also mislaid my instructions for what I need to do to upload a new book cover. I would much appreciate some help.

I'm not sure if I need to start a new thread, but know you can help me.
The audiobook version of my Crescendo has received a 2014 Anthony Award Nomination for Best Audiobook. I would like to present the new cover featuring a gold seal with this announcement to replace the current audiobook version.

I re-set the listing to have the audiobook version be the primary.

I am the publisher of the audiobook version, and author of the print and ebook versions of this book.

Could you tell me how to change the cover?

re 20, Goodreads policy is to keep all published covers because users like to shelve the edition that matches the one they own. So we can't change covers, but we can add covers. Your previous audiobook listing used Amazon.com's ASIN of B00HK1HD2K. Normally, I'd make another edition with the new cover, without an ASIN or ISBN, and marked as an alternate cover edition of B00HK1HD2K (we call these alternate cover editions, or ACEs for short). Then you could set that cover as the default edition (the one that would appear on your author profile and would appear in search results by title). However, audible audiobooks are also listed at audible.com using a separate ASIN. So in this case, I was able to create a new edition of your audiobook using Audible's ASIN (B00HNDQQ6Y) here:

re 16, the easiest thing to do would be to upload the photo to your profile, then come back here and post a link to it. i (or another librarian) can then upload it to the book in question.

as for the publishing info, it's possible that Virgin Books is owned by ebury or vice versa. However, can you confirm the ISBN of your copy? The edition you linked to on Goodreads belongs to a large print edition with the publisher Windsor:

However, the paperback edition is published by Virgin. DO you have the pb edition?

I do have the paperback edition, and the ISBN is 9780753541548.

In the front few pages it says "First published in the United Kingdom in 2013 by Virgin Books, and imprint of Ebury Publishing.

My photograph is not very good, but I think it's better than just the generic book motif.

re 24, cover change reverted. Sandra, Goodreads policy is to keep all published covers. If a book with a given ISBN is reissued with a new cover, we create an alternate cover edition instead. You can read more about how to do so in the librarian manual here. In this case, I think the original cover image associated with that record is probably the same as the one Caroline has uploaded. Any color differences are likely a result of a shadow being cast down on the shiny surface of the book by the photographer. Unless I'm wrong, Caroline? Does your book's cover differ from this record?

Yes, my shadow reflecting on the cover was a big problem. I have left a query at a group at flickr (the photo site I use), to see how I can better photograph reflective surfaces.
