Book Box Subscriptions
I really want to sign up for nocturnal book subscription.
I just signed up yesterday. August should be my first box. I can't wait!
I was going to sign up for pagehabit for horror but they didn't have enough for the price and I'm already with Owlcrate and Fairyloot. It's really expensive. If anyone knows of another horror one let me know and I can see.

If I can find ten of dedicated Nocturnal Readers I'd like to start a group so we can enjoy our boxes together.
I signed up for PageHabit mostly because I had no idea there was such a thing as an adult monthly box until NetGalley sent me an email. A little googling and I found Nocturnal which seems a better value. I will likely cancel Page Habit next month.
I got the email from Netgalley too. I was just looking at Nocturnal and I think I might at least try it. I will probably have to cancel them all after Dec. I have been with Owlcrate for over a year and just started with Fairyloot which is $50 from the U.K.! It might get dropped sooner. I'm excited to try the Nocturnal and see if it's one I can keep! You're welcome Melissa! Wow, I hope that was a lot of Loot. I was going to say they would have to drop their prices now that there is an official Harry Potter Wizarding bimonthly box but it looks like that is also by Lootcrate, lol. They have snagged their fan base properly.
Owlcrate seems to be the least expensive. I stopped my Nocturnal from going through just yet because they charge taxes and with that and shipping its $50 too. I can't have 2 $50 boxes and a $36 box. Well, this sucks. I will decide tomorrow. It's past my bedtime 😴
IMPRESSION15 is the discount code provided by the YouTuber I previously linked. I didn't get taxed (no idea why) and shipping is $8.Full disclosure: I noticed on my receipt that the coupon wasn't applied so I emailed. They immediately replied and said they'd discount it.
Yeah, I had the discount come up. I really want to do it but not being taxed, that's stupid. I will check on the computer later. And email them about it
I've been getting the Nocturnal box since last November. It's not cheap but definitely worth it. I would be into doing a buddy read for the box.

I think I'm going to have to bow out on this one. It's too expensive and I haven't heard back from them about the tax they are charging on the box. I did find a horror box that is just horror stuff I might do. It's under nerdblock.com You can pick from different boxes and horror is one of them but they are just horror items.
They finally wrote back and told me all of the book boxes are supposed to charge tax. I have never heard of that and they also had on their site or cratejoy site, whichever that they now charge tax so I'm not sure what's going on with that. Didn't someone say they didn't get charged tax on their box? I was going to put it through again and it showed the tax thing. I don't understand why they are making them do that. I decided not to get the other box right now. It's cheap and you get some really cool horror merch but I have tons of merch already that I buy from Etsy and Society6 and where ever else so.

Yes, I have been talking with the guy that runs it. I'm still trying to decide. I pay $36.98 for Owlcrate and $51.68 for Fairyloot and I'm home bound and can't afford everything. Like I said before I'm probably going to drop all boxes. I'm def going to drop Fairyloot because even though I love getting a box from the UK, I'm paying to much to get it shipped from there. I might try and get a couple of the nocturnal boxes. The only stupid thing is I will get charged twice in my stupid credit card month and can't afford almost $100 from them in one credit card cycle. Why can't we be rich?
Lol, I wanna be a billionaire so freaking bad...I'm not that interested in enamel pins (just reminds me of flair from Office Space), and other things that end up in the junk drawer, I will likely buy that DT bandana.

I had no idea that they had subscriptions for books like this. It's definitely intriguing, but I'll have to sit on it to think it over. While I love the idea of a subscription box for books, the rest that comes with it doesn't really interest me at all. That, and the possibility of getting something I already own makes me cautious of signing up.
I only found out a few days ago and now I'm really looking forward to my first box!
Lena! I ordered it =) I have been talking to one of the owners for days. Mine will be a little more expensive because they are in Tennessee like me so I have to get taxed because the government sucks. But I'm canceling one of my other subs and I have already signed up for the August box. I'm so freaking excited. The one owner (Vincent) is super nice and says I'm going to go nuts for this box. I can't wait until we get them! Woot!
So that's four of us! I'll start a group buddy read thread here when I get my box. If it's lively and we get a few more we can be our own group!

I love love love Nocturnal!! I've had 2 boxes so far. You get so much stuff for the cost. I'm actually reading one of the books I got for this month, Come To Dust, and am really enjoying it.

With the first box I got, the Stephen King one, I already had both books. But this month's box had 2 I didn't have so I was super pumped! I really like it though so to me the risk is worth it.

I was thinking that too. I read the first book and it was good enough to re-read and read the second one. I'm hoping they put the graphic novel of NoAS < -- crap I forget how to spell it. Lol. I can't freaking wait!! I'm too excited!

You're welcome! Wellllll the first box I got by the 5th. They are in Tennessee and I'm in Georgia so it just takes a few days at most. But USPS lost my box this month so they had to send a new one and that one took like 7 days so I just got it last Friday! Typically it should come at the beginning of the month though.
I'm in TN with them (why I'm being taxed!) so hopefully I will get mine soon next week. Omg! I can't wait. The stupid postal better not lose my box. I used to work for them so I don't like the government. Are they not sent priority mail with tracking like other boxes? Or did it still get lost? Wouldn't surprise me. Idiots!
They will send you an email with tracking when they ship it. But my tracking number never updated on my end. Apparently mine was one of 19 boxes that went missing at the Atlanta hub. 19!!! How do you lose that many???
