Just over 100 pages through, and not a lot has happened. We're still setting the scene.
Hoping things pick up soon- there's less than 200 pages to go!

I liked it overall, I think it's 3.5 stars out of 5.

I started it yesterday on audio - and now I remember why I didn't like this series overmuch. Switching to print as soon as I finish Mystic City by Theo Lawrence (which is good, btw)

I started this last night and read about a 1/4 of the book. VERY slow start - a lot of re-hashing. There is a lot of angst and worry about whether, as Spock would say, "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one". (view spoiler)[ Cia has a list of people to kill from the President. She is very torn - she doesn't want to take a life, but these people need killing in order to purge the bad out and start new, with a better Testing. I hope something happens soon! (hide spoiler)]

I enjoyed the novel, but for the first half it felt like I was inside the characters mind while she analyzed everything, it annoyed me at first till I figured out what it was. as I can never remember how to write spoilers, I will say I wasnt a huge fan of the end, it felt completed but a bit like hmmm really? To me anyway, it was a way better ending then some thats for sure. Overall tho I thought the series was awesome, the first book being my fave.

LOL! When I started last night I was at exactly 50%, and within 2 pages - WOW - the action started! I forced myself to stop at 3:38 am (the Kindle was about to die) and I'm at 87%. Can't wait to finish tonight!

Just finished. I was a bit underwhelmed - which is not to say I wasn't satisfied with the ending. (view spoiler)[ I was happy that Cia and most of her friends survived. And that not everyone survived - that would have been WAY unrealistic. I like that Cia makes the tough choice to return to school to become a leader of the country - and to keep an eye on the government and make sure the promised changes to the Testing really happen. But the whole Dr. Barnes scene - WHAT? And it seemed to end rather anti-climatically after all the build up the first half of the book. .

Overall, I enjoyed this series - but the first book was by far my favorite. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[The whole Dr. Barnes scene at the end was a bit bizarre. I'm glad Wil redeemed himself and got his twin back. And that Raffe got his sister.

And Cia going back to become a leader was the right choice.

Hmmmm...I finished it. I overall enjoyed it, and rated it 4 stars. (view spoiler)[ Okay, I wasn't bothered by the over-analyzing, or not much action at all. I liked all that info, because it was so Cia! That's just how she operates. And what the author is implying, that good leaders really need to think these things through before acting. I thought the whole thing with Dr. Barnes and the president at the end was genius, in and of itself--kind of made me think of Mockingjay in a way, but not as strong. I am wondering if there will be a spin of series of this, though, because so much is still up in the air. I liked her decision to go back to school, but what about Tomas? I get the end was more about Cia and how she'd changed, but come on! (hide spoiler)]
