I read it ... in Latin ... when in high school. Once was enough ....

Cat (cat_uk) | 3387 comments @bookconcierge - wow! the whole thing?! I suffered through part of Book IV in Latin, can't imagine what sort of sadists would make teens read the whole thing!

Dee (austhokie) | 8954 comments wow, BC...kudos to you!

i'll admit to debating read it (but I didn't vote for it)...I found one of the great courses at my library based on it (12 lectures of 30min each) - so I'm going to do that at the same time I think

I took four years of Latin (and a year of ancient Greek) in high school. I was a weird kid ...

I liked Ovid's Metamorphosis. better.

Cat (cat_uk) | 3387 comments I did 5 yrs I think - took GCSE in it. I'd've considered doing Latin for my A-level, but I think that the Aeneid Book IV helped kill that idea - Aeneas was SUCH a prick to Dido in the book, I couldn't bear it!

As for ancient Greek - it clashed with an English course I did, so no go there.

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 3943 comments I cant think of anything worse than the Aeneid but luckily the other 2 options look interesting. That is the beauty of this something for everyone
