The enclosures are somewhat improved and they no longer keep so many large animals. The polar bears were very poorly treated but they are gone now.

Oh that's good. I remember crying at the polar bears but I didn't know why. Everyone then shouted at me. I reckon I had empathy! I also remember the big drop by the elephants. I've a photo of dad holding me as a baby and smoothing a trunk that was stretched out.

I'm a teacher and we take classes to Chester and Blackpool zoos and they are better than the old ones.

I imagine they only pay attention to the sales figures. It might be different if it's a self published book that they are considering making an offer on.
