Hello everyone and welcome to the August 2017 edition of SCPL’s Online Nonfiction book club! My name is Marcella, and I will be leading this month’s discussion. This month we’ll be reading Juliet’s Answer: A Memoir by Glenn Dixon.

Glenn Dixon is a lovelorn, seemingly “star-cross’d” English teacher who takes the trip of a lifetime to Verona to heal a broken heart and find a better understanding of the nature of love!

Watch the book trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXdrv...

The book is available from the Library in several different formats, all of which are accessible through the following link: http://bit.ly/2vJO2jg

I’m looking forward to reading this book with you and discussing your thoughts and reactions!

~Marcella~

Heidi Madden | 118 comments Just a heads up, I found this book to be a *super* easy read. I was at lakeside cabin this weekend and I read the whole book in just over a day. I really enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to discussing it with everyone!

Hi Heidi - you're absolutely right! If you're looking for a lighter read this month, this book is definitely the right choice!

I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts and opinions :)

Thanks for posting this! I was interested in this book, but i wasn't sure I could fit in (I participate in a bunch of reading challenges, which take up my reading time). Anyhow, when I saw your post that it was a fast read, I ordered it from the library. I'm 2/3 of the way through and will be done tonight or tomorrow night.

That's great Valerie! And thank you to Heidi for your initial commentary and encouragement!

Valerie Brown Well, I don't know who picked the book as our choice this month, but - Thanks! :) I really enjoyed it and it probably wouldn't have been one I would pick if I saw it at the library. It is a fast read and his writing style is very readable. I am interested in reading another one of his books now.

That's great! I'm sure Glenn Dixon would be very pleased to know that and I will pass along your thanks to my colleague who originally suggested the book for this month! :)
