message 7: by C. John (last edited Aug 06, 2017 10:41AM) (new)

C. John Kerry (cjkerry) | 117 comments Read He is a Canadian for my Library Reading Challenge. Had to read either a book of poetry or a book of short stories. Opted for the poetry, especially as the author was my great-aunt.
Also read some of A Narrow Vision Duncan Campbell Scott and the administration of Indian Affairs in Canada by E. Brian Titley which fullfilled the challenge of reading a book from the Reconciliation list. We don't have to finish a book to include it (in this case I didn't get it finished before it had to go back to the libarary).

message 8: by Gail (new)

Gail | 74 comments Some of the best reads over the past while are
Pachinko
The Unseen World
The Essex Serpent
Beartown
Doc
The Amateur Marriage
I gave The Amateur Marriage 5 stars and loved it.
I am currently listening to A Thread of Grace and I wish I had a list of characters that is apparently in the written novel. So many European names that I am not keeping straight.

message 19: by Gerald (new)

Gerald Miller | 821 comments Currently listening to I Am Half-Sick of Shadows (Flavia de Luce, #4) by Alan Bradley by Alan Bradley. Still thanking BOTNS for recommending Flavia to readers on the podcast. This is one series that I would recommend the audible edition. These stories never get tiring because of the narrator, Jane Entwistle.
