For our first stop we can choose between
Spell it out - Madinah, Saudi Arabia (max 35 points_
Book from Saudi Arabia or written by Saudi Arabian writer (max 35 points_
Detour - Read a book that seems as though everyone has read it but you (max 50 points)
Which one does everyone like?

There are over 500,000 ratings so I hope this qualifies for that detour!

Team Planes, Trains and Really Big Books Spreadsheet

Yes, we do. Welcome.
We are all so far doing the detour see message 703. Great if this fits in to your reading otherwise just read any book.
So I assume a few of us will be enemies in Cutthroat Island, evil yo ho ho!!

I'll hold off on Abir's spot for a little while, hopefully she'll check in soon.

Read a book that seems as though everyone has read it but you
Read a book with 10-20 chapters
Read a book that has the birthstone Ruby in the text or title
Read a book with a wheel on the cover
Read a book where the ISBN10 number has exactly 3 even numbers
Read a book where a character lives on a farm
Read a book shelved (listed on the first page of the "top shelves" of the book) as school - plurals and minor spelling variations are acceptable
Read a book with more than 500, but less than 1000 goodreads reviews
I'm good with most of these, except maybe character who lives on a farm and "top shelves" of school. Do we want to make decisions now, or just wait until we're almost done with the one we're working on? I'm good either way, and if a lot of us are doing cutthroat it might make sense to wait to see what we have to do for that challenge (to see if it will work for this one).

Yes, that's right Nicole. Increased detours one of the privileges of First Class.
I can probably find something for most of the detours except the school one. But taking each one as we get up to it might work better as some team members might prefer the other options.

I was wondering since I’m new, when I finish a book, do I make a post about it?
Also if we are doing the spell it out option do we just nominate the letters we want to do? I assume most of the time we are reading a couple of books each?

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
We usually post on here and you can also fill in your spot on the Spreadsheet.
If we do Spell it out yes, we nominate which letters we want to do and if it's a longer word quicker readers can fill in a couple of spots. It always seems to work out.

Jenny, would you mind PMing the Mods with the update. Thanks.

Yes we usually try to stay at one stop for about a week, but are flexible if we need to stay longer we do.

Three star read - her second book Into the Water shows her growth as a writer, IMHO.

Now I see why over 1.2 million people rated this book!

Do we want to start thinking about our next stop yet?
Spell it out - either Ornsk or Russia
Author/Story - from Russia
Detour - book with 10 to 20 chapters
