Bee (abirbee) | 667 comments So what are we choosing for the next task??? I vote spell it out for Roswell.
What do you guys think???

message 252: by [deleted user] (new)

I could probably find a book that fits the detour for that one.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6399 comments WhT is the word or detour?

message 254: by [deleted user] (new)

Word is Roswell.

Detour is a book where a character's first name starts with the letter A.

I could do either.

message 255: by Lisa - (Aussie Girl) (last edited Sep 09, 2017 12:53PM) (new)

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6399 comments Thanks. I'm sure I could do an A as well. Or the spell it out. Don't mind either. But I think the detour for this is easier than the next one. (Book shelved 21st century)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 4185 comments I'm good with whatever the group wants.

A character - Amelia Peabody in Crocodile on the Sandbank
ROSWELL - I can take any of these - W, L, S, O

So far we've done 4 spell-it-outs and 2 detours, so I'm kind of leaning towards detour on this one...

message 257: by Josie (new)

Josie (josiemichele) | 96 comments I vote detour as well. Especially since we just did two spell it outs. For the detour I've got Audrey Rose Wadsworth in Stalking Jack The Ripper.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6399 comments Yeah, probably the detour. I've got Annie Henderson in Going Dark (The Lost Platoon, #1) by Monica McCarty

So that's five people who could do detour.

message 259: by Jammin Jenny (last edited Sep 10, 2017 12:38AM) (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 4185 comments Cool - so sounds like detour is the winner for our next stop.

@Eternity how's your "R" book coming along for this stop? As soon as you're done we can move on to our next stop. If you aren't able to finish it, let me know. I have an "R" character in a book I read we can use if needed.

message 260: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 4185 comments Right now it looks like we have Pigletto, Lisa, Jenny, Eternity and Josie reading for the detour at our next stop. If at least two more members of our team can read for the detour too, then we'll get an extra 15 points. If this works, then we could earn 50 points at our next stop. That's the most possible points anyone can get!

So, Abir, Lexi and Chava, can any of you read a book with a character whose first name starts with A?

Chava | 1522 comments Jenny wrote: "Right now it looks like we have Pigletto, Lisa, Jenny, Eternity and Josie reading for the detour at our next stop. If at least two more members of our team can read for the detour too, then we'll g..."

Yes I'm starting The Crooked House which has character Alison

message 262: by Lexi (new)

Lexi Sure. I can read The Breaker which has both an Alex and an Aamir.

message 263: by Lexi (new)

Lexi Are we ready to start the next challenge?

message 264: by [deleted user] (new)

No. I have a bit more of my book left.

message 265: by Lexi (new)

Lexi Ok. I won't start just yet.

message 266: by Bee (new)

Bee (abirbee) | 667 comments I can try to find something in my shelf, I'm reading a book now but it doesn't have any characters with an A. But it looks like we still haven't started the detour yet, so hopefully I'll be dne with this one by the time we start the detour

message 267: by [deleted user] (new)

I finished Landline by Rainbow Rowell. R for Rainbow

message 268: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 4185 comments Cool! We can move on to our next stop now.

Goal is to have this book done by NLT 9/17.

message 272: by Lexi (new)

Lexi Is it bad that I would rather read than work today?

message 273: by [deleted user] (new)

Lexi wrote: "Is it bad that I would rather read than work today?"

I have many days like that.

message 274: by Bee (new)

Bee (abirbee) | 667 comments I can't really agree with you today Lexi. I have the flu, so I rather sleep than read or work (or in my case, try tp find a work) :)

message 275: by Lexi (new)

Lexi Oh no! I hope you feel better soon. Hopefully you will feel up for reading in a day or so.

message 276: by Chava (new)

Chava | 1522 comments Oh no!! Abir, feel better soon!!
I definitely want to read instead of work. I am trying to catch up on 2 weeks work after I was ill

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6399 comments Finally finished my book for Character starting with A - Annie Henderson. Going Dark (The Lost Platoon, #1) by Monica McCarty .

What are we doing for the next stop?

message 288: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs. Main character is named Anna.

message 289: by Jammin Jenny (new)

Jammin Jenny (jamminjenny) | 4185 comments Woo hoo! We earned max points at that stop - 50 points! I'll send a PM to the travel agent to update our records.

So what do we want to do at our last stop on this itinerary? We can choose from

Spell it out: Santiago or Chile
OR
Detour: tagged 21st century on 1st page of top shelves

My preference is Spell it out, either city or country. City would let all of us contribute, but we would need to read 8 books so everyone would need to pick 1 letter...

message 290: by Lexi (new)

Lexi The timing is good. I'm going to start a new book this afternoon. Spell it out would be easier for me. I have a few books that would help.

The 21st century one would be harder for me, but if necessary I could probably make it work.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6399 comments I vote spell it out as well. If everyone is able to read and finish a book this week the longer word would be great.,

message 292: by Lexi (new)

Lexi I can do O, S, or G. (I have a pretty substantial backlog of books at the moment.)

message 293: by Josie (new)

Josie (josiemichele) | 96 comments I have a book for O and for T. Whichever one for me is fine.

message 294: by Chava (new)

Chava | 1522 comments Can Murder Games go for G?

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6399 comments Unfortunately Chava I'm pretty sure the first word in the title is the one that counts so no.

message 296: by Chava (new)

Chava | 1522 comments Lisa - (Aussie Girl) wrote: "Unfortunately Chava I'm pretty sure the first word in the title is the one that counts so no."

too bad. I'll have a look around for something else

message 297: by Chava (new)

Chava | 1522 comments The Target Committee for a T
Sorry, I have very little time this week to read, so I'm doing a short one

message 298: by [deleted user] (new)

I can do The Disaster Artist My Life Inside The Room, the Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made by Greg Sestero for G if non-fiction is okay.

message 299: by Lexi (new)

Lexi Put me down for S.

message 300: by Josie (new)

Josie (josiemichele) | 96 comments I'll do O. For One Dark Throne.
