Annie | 4 comments Has book #3 of this series been published yet? If not, I'll not be reading these 2 until it has.

Book #3, Ride The Storm, has not been published. Last we heard there may be a partial manuscript and Dean would still like to publish Chris Snow, Book 3 with Random House/Bantam in the future.

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 55 comments I haven't read these yet, so hopefully I can get to them for this.

Both titles should be available from most local libraries if you don't want to purchase them.

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 55 comments I've actually owned copies for a few years, just haven't gotten around to the reading part. ;)

See you in about a week!

Karen B. (raggedy11) | 884 comments This is one of my favorite Koontz books. I won't start it until the 1st though. Disciplining myself.

Barbara | 486 comments Absolutely one of my favorites. I'll read🐾🐾

Matthew | 183 comments I love that Seize the Night is going to be our Halloween time read. October is an absolutely ideal time for such a spooky tale.

We can always add another one for Halloween if a few people are interested & agree on an additional title :-)

Please post in the Mini Group Read Discussion Thread if interested: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Fred (fredderoche) I have started Fear Nothing which precedes Seize the Night in the Moonlight series with Chris Snow as the main character.

Dustin the wind Crazy little brown owl (dustpancrazy) | 6121 comments Mod
I will start next week

Matthew | 183 comments So I was just totally hipster and read a couple of chapters of this at a Starbucks lol. I mean, reading MUST be done in the presence of other people, right? Lol. I'm almost a quarter of the way through and am enjoying my return trip to Moonlight Bay
.

Dustin the wind Crazy little brown owl (dustpancrazy) | 6121 comments Mod
Thanks Matthew. I am a bit behind on my reading schedule due to an unexpected incident and an extremely busy time at work, but I still plan on re-reading the Chris Snow series in the future.

message 23: by Fred (new) - rated it 5 stars

Fred (fredderoche) A interesting item is Chris Snow born with "XP" - Xeroderma Pigmentosum - skin cancer when exposed to light, but an advantage to "see in the dark"??

Dustin the wind Crazy little brown owl (dustpancrazy) | 6121 comments Mod
Yes. Just like the mutations in X-Men, our differences are our greatest assets.

Matthew | 183 comments Chris being somewhat of an outcast from society ends up being asset as well. Sort of a cool twist for Uncle Dean that the outsider in this book is our hero whereas the villains are usually outcasts (in Watchers the monster is literally called The Outsider).

Barbara | 486 comments Love Chris Snow and Moonlight Bay.....written when Dean could really make you feel the magic!!

Dustin the wind Crazy little brown owl (dustpancrazy) | 6121 comments Mod
Much Love :-)

Matthew | 183 comments Because they are told in the first person both Snow books feel like long journals which I just love.

Melissa Goodnight (auntiegame) | 9 comments Just started Fear Nothing. 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Matthew | 183 comments How do folks enjoy the dialogue in this book and Seize the Night? I find the conversations between Christopher and Bobby lighten the mood juuuust enough without becoming outright silly. And, of course, Bobby's few of life is very interesting to me.

Started re-reading Fear Nothing yesterday for the fourth time. So many similarities & connections to Odd Thomas and other Dean Koontz Books.

Dustin the wind Crazy little brown owl (dustpancrazy) | 6121 comments Mod
I was reading friend reviews of Fear Nothing yesterday and someone wrote that Fear Nothing was her favorite "Odd Book" which I found interesting. I do see some similarities and connections - like in most Koontz writing.

My favorite Odd Book was actually Odd Interlude in which we have characters visiting Wyvern.

I remember in the Odd Adventures how they found that Mystery Train hat and how in other books such as Relentless, a character will wear shirts with significant words written on them.

Most certainly. I like that the humor is more subtle than the Odd Thomas Books. I also enjoy the dialogue between Chris Snow and his dog Orson ha ha ha.

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 55 comments I've only just started. I'm about five or six chapters in and really enjoying this.

Great Story. Great Writing. All aboard The Mystery Train!

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 55 comments I still haven't read much, but this is quite brilliant. Brilliant writing and story. I'm really curious to see what's happening.

Karen B. (raggedy11) | 884 comments I'm 59% finished having really gotten into reading last night and even early this morning. (Now that I am retired, I refuse to get up while it is still dark outside ) I know people have complained when Koontz gets into philosophy but I really loved a lot of it in this book. Of course I love Orson; that goes without saying. Reading this the first time was the first I'd ever heard of XP. It was good to learn about it. Even though I first read this I don't know how many years ago, the information seemed fresh.

Dustin the wind Crazy little brown owl (dustpancrazy) | 6121 comments Mod
How about them monkeys? :-)

Karen B. (raggedy11) | 884 comments The monkeys certainly add to the creepiness

Matthew | 183 comments As a testament to how good the dialogue in this book is, I generally found the discussions about the monkeys creepier than the monkeys themselve
s.

Karen B. (raggedy11) | 884 comments Matthew I agree. Angela's description of the monkey that wasn't a monkey set me up for creepiness.

Dustin the wind Crazy little brown owl (dustpancrazy) | 6121 comments Mod
I love the literary name references such as Orson Wells and T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats

Karen B. (raggedy11) | 884 comments I finished last night. It was Soooo good I wanted to start right in on Seize the Night.

Dustin the wind Crazy little brown owl (dustpancrazy) | 6121 comments Mod
Might as well start Seize the Night this weekend :-) October is upon us! We are also featuring Strange Highways in October.

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 55 comments I'm at part 4 right now. Such a creepy book. I'm really enjoying it.

Tiffany (tifylyn) | 1 comments I just picked up the first book in this series and I usually stay away from books with animals in them could someone tell me if I should continue reading, I can't watch the lion king if that gauges how sensitive I am to animal related things lol

Karen B. (raggedy11) | 884 comments Tiffany, do you mean you can't stand to see an animal hurt or you just don't like animals period?
