Chris Jags | 78 comments If you could add another word to the language, what would it be, and why?

I'll go with "withe". Not because I like it - in fact it's my bane, because when I'm typing fast, that's how I often accidentally type "with the". Still, if Merriam Webster could go ahead and legitimize it, it would save me a lot of editing.

Jenna (stjenna) | 22 comments Integrous. I've been looking for an adjectival form for "integrity" for some time. There are a few sites that say "integrous" is already a word, but most editorial sites say no. I also found one that said that English had the word "integrious" eons ago, but it's no longer considered part of the current lexicon.

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) Withing

Any time a word ends in 'in' my fingers automatically add the g.

Christina McMullen (cmcmullen) Also, withe looks very Shakespearean. I think it's a keeper.

Willn't! Ever since I saw the word in GG's book, I want to use it!

G.G. (ggatcheson) | 2491 comments ROFL!!!! Would you believe my English teacher who between us wasn't that great of an English speaker actually thought the word was used?
But again, that teacher (God bless her soul, she was a sweet woman who died from brain tumor) also pronounced vegetable as Veggie-table. I can't count how many times I had to correct her. She even had me teach the class one day because she had lost her voice form a bad cold.

It goes along with withing quite nicely.

I know I'm not using your definition here, but the first thing that came to mind was Lemony Snickett's Series of Fickity Events.

Or lemony Ficket? Overly proper distant cousin to Snickett...
