Seattle's excellent Mystery Book Store is for sale.

Owning an independent bookstore these days is undoubtedly an iffy proposition, but if you love mysteries enough and are up for a challenge, maybe this is for you! It would be very sad to see this bookstore go the way of so many others.

I have fond memories of spending hours in the vintage bookstore in my area before the proprietress died. She was such a grand, kind and knowledgeable lady. Sadly, her children did not want to keep the store open. I still feel a certain sadness when I pass the old building.

Very sad. When I was a child there seemed to be lots of bookstores. I miss them. There are no independent bookstores near my home.
