Sara I am looking for this book, Fantasy genre.

It's about a Young Boy (I think, but definitely a child) and something traumatic happens to him. So after that he stops talking and is mute. I think he lost his Family or something like that and starts travelling with a grown up. In time, because he doesn't talk, his Hearing Begins to improve and he can hear People talking from afar and like a needle dropping to the floor though on a complete different floor.

I don't know much, because I read this book when I was Young, like 12 y/o. That's seven years ago.

I also don't know if I am mixing something up, but I feel like this Boy is so talented and quiet, that he has to steal or get somthing. And this something he has to steal is placed on a floor, which makes sounds and sings when you step on it. but he can walk over it. maybe he's a spy/rebel?

Well, this is awfully vague, but I would appreciate the help, thank you!

Thanks for the help, I think I will have to reread it to make sure it's the right one, but the summary I found sounds good. Never thought I could ever find that one again yeay!
