Julie Round | 41 comments Has anyone else wondered about how much marketing to do for a little poetry anthology (32pages) that has no ISBN?
I feel the only method is word of mouth and it will be fun to see how many copies are sold .

Thomas Everson (authorthomaseverson) | 424 comments Word of mouth is difficult to get going for any book. When you say without ISBN, are you considering publishing it to a platform like Amazon, Nook, Smashwords, etc? You don't need an ISBN for that, but it still puts it online for people to buy.

If you're talking about having physical copies only without an ISBN, it would be even more difficult because even if someone did spread the word, a person would have to find you to buy it, and in today's world if it's not a one-click buy a lot of people are going to pass it up because they want the instant gratification.

As an idea for marketing a physical copy, your best bet would couple it with something else and sell it at a physical market. Art, flowers/decorative plants, another book.
