Bill I should have posted this when the series came on PBS, but I was wondering if anyone else watched the two seasons of this series? Season 1 was broadcast in 2012 (3 episodes) and Season 2 in 2014 (4 episodes). It's set in Britain after WWII, early '50s as the country is coming to grips with life after the war, especially women. During they war they often held key jobs; in this case, the four women were code breakers working out of Bletchley and now that the war is ended, they are trying to get on with their lives. They find themselves involved in murder/ criminal cases (each season had its own unique case) and come together, almost by happenstance to work together and use their analytical skills to try and solve the cases. Excellent cast, fantastic women actors and entertaining, suspenseful storylines. My wife and I found it almost by chance and were immediately drawn in to Season 1 and then to Season 2. Wondering if anyone else saw it and what you might have thought?

I watched both seasons, Bill. The first season was (imho) much better.

Linette | 9 comments I watched both seasons - really enjoy this show. Wondering what is going to happen next season though, with the one character.

Bill I think I preferred the first season as well, but overall still enjoyed both. Great concept. Unfortunately, from what I read, it won't be coming back for a third season.

That is so sad indeed! The people who made that show went to great lengths to make it seem authentic -- and it was just a great show.

Bill I thought the four ladies; Rachel Stirling (my favourite.. :0), Julie Graham, Sophie Rundle and Anna Maxwell Martin (Season 1) / Hattie Morahan (Season 2) were all excellent actresses and made the show that much better.

Terrific series, both seasons, and I'm sorry to hear it won't be back again. It made me want to read Enigma again and maybe watch the movie too.

If there are any nonfiction readers among you, there's a book called The Secret Life of Bletchley Park: The History of the Wartime Codebreaking Centre by the Men and Women Who Were There. I haven't read it yet, but I thought I'd draw your attention to it.

I loved Enigma .
