Looking forward to some good discussions!

I'm hoping a list keeps me organized while discouraging me from over committing.

I've given up on keeping up with the Tales of the Ketty Jay BR, so those have dropped off the list for now.

I'm way over committed for October so we'll see what happens there.

This far out and I'm already committing to 4 things for January.
I think I may be losing my mind.

So many good books and not enough time. I've started trying to reign myself in. Maximum of 3 books a month in the group BR, but ideally 2.

Currently reading Throne of Jade and City of Stairs. Hoping to wrap both up this week.

Going to do my best on The Pillars of the Earth but just don't think its going to be completed this month.

Throwing in the towel on The Pillars of the Earth. I will come back to it at some point, but right now its just more of a time commitment than I can make.

Black Powder War done, still slowly going through The Blade Itself.
Not going to commit to the rest of the trilogy at this point.
Its interesting, but I don't want to stress myself out.

You just go at your own pace :) if you don't get round to joining book 2 I'll let you know what I think anyway! XD

Me too, lol. I've only read one Sanderson book so far- book one of Mistborn. I liked it well enough, but not enough to make me want to rush out and read the rest. I'm hoping I do better with WoK!

I've only read one too. But I'm doing Mistborn 2 buddy read later this month. Not tempted to join? :)

Not this time.
I'm committed to a couple of books yet for other groups I'm in :)

Probably less stressful not being in on the Oathbringer Mayhem... it's almost longer than the rest of my November Buddy Reads combined... 1600 pages, 55hrs on audio...

Yeah, definitely glad I'm not trying to squeeze that in right now!

Oh my God...that'll take me a full month!!

I totally forgot how long WoK is until we scheduled it too.

Words of Radiance was 1350 pages or 48hrs audio... Way of Kings was 1250 pages or 45hrs audio... these are Kindle/paperback numbers I think... Hardcover numbers are about 20-25% smaller

I have a paperback of The Way of Kings around here somewhere. Good thing I have until April to find it...

I still need to buy it (but it's two 600 page paperbacks here), so I'll either need to work hard on my overflowing challenge to earn it, or ask for it off santa!

I really did try and will probably try again at some other time. Right now it just wasn't what I wanted to be reading.

Re-assessed a few things. Trying to be more realistic so I don't stress myself out.

Letting myself actually plan as far out as May now, though I am already looking at things farther out.

Removed Leviathan Wakes from in progress since it was from November, but not putting it in abandoned as I intend to finish the book. I'm just too far behind to catch up to the group for the rest of the series.
I like it, but I can't seem to motivate to sit down to it for long periods.

I'm not even pretending that I am in control anymore. *shrugs*

Adding stuff out through November already.
I think I have lost my mind.

Removing some planned stuff from February.
Reality set in that I wasn't getting 5 more books done this month.

Still struggling through Gardens of the Moon, so I'm giving up at keeping up with the group on Malazan.
Maybe I can get caught up at some point, but I'm not stressing myself out over it.

Taking the rest of the Temeraire series off the list.
I enjoy them, but I want to take a little break from the series. I'll come back to them later this year and wrap up the series.

I'm in exactly the same situation. I'm only up to the beginning of book 2 at the moment. I'm hoping to catch up by Memories of Ice in May but if it doesn't happen then I'm not to worried.

I'm enjoying it, but I'm just finding it a very slow read. Maybe its because there seem to be so many different threads and stories going on.
So I think I'm going to tackle Malaza on my own one at a time and just check out the threads to see what discussions were for each book. Trying to keep pace for a buddy read on them was just going to be too stressful.
I'll save buddy reads for less dense books that I know I can get through more quickly but still have fun discussing.

I know what you mean. Sometimes I enjoy reading discussion threads on dense books but don't have much to say myself. And I end up falling behind despite my best efforts so why fight the inevitable ;-). Having Scott's notes on each chapter will be useful to refer to in my own time as well though.

Ooh Way of Kings is our next read together! I'm excited to finally start Stormlight Archive, it's been a long time coming! :)

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I've heard lots of good things.

And yeah, so many sounded good and my list got out of control. And I fell behind on some so I just really needed to clean up and update.

Totally, I wanted to sign up for everything, but it's just not feasible. I needed to see a bit of unscheduled time in my future, so I can just go and pick up a random book!

This is what I feel as well. I just need to resist the buddy reads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I miss being able to pick up a book on a whim.

Sometimes I do go pick up a random book, but then I feel guilty for not keeping up with all my Buddy Reads!
Plus I'm in other groups that do group reads. I'm learning to juggle books, lol!

Hailee I completely agree! I miss it too.

And Sarah, I feel guilty too! Sometimes I go and sit in front of my bookcase and decide I want to read something, but then I don't because I know I don't have time.

I have been really terrible lately. Hoping to get caught up on Heroes of Olympus though.

Real life was a PITA for bit and totally threw me off my game.
Going to have to majorly redo my plans for the rest of the year.
