Play Book Tag discussion

I liked this a lot better than I expect to in great part because the author has a wickedly sarcastic sense of humor. He also has some creative ideas about the future, and I appreciated those thoughts, though to be fair, since I never read this genre, perhaps they are commonplace. They seemed original to me. Where it devolves for me are the action sequences which somehow just didn't have me gasping for breathe or sitting on the edge of my seat, but more put me into skimming mode. But everything else - - the setting, the characters, etc. was nicely done. Really more of a 3.5.

Oh my gosh! A 3.5 exceeds my wildest expectations for you! lol. This may not be your new favorite genre but I am glad you found something to read for the month that you at least enjoyed reading.

Ha ha, my expectations were nice and low, but I did have fun reading something different!

While this is the best in the genre for me, I also thought 3.5 for this but rounded it down, and his sarcastic sense of humour fit the book well. I'm glad you liked it.

I'm thinking I might read this one for the tag.

Ha ha, well it isn't a big time investment, so I don't think you can go far wrong with it.

Good for you Anita, expanding your horizons. Fun reads are the best kind. Food for thought on people as cannon fodder is icing on the cake in the traditions of Heinlein and Haldeman.

I'm finding it entertaining and an easy read, so that is as good as I 'd hoped for.

I ordered the sequel from the library, but am not sure if I'll actually read it or not. My interest seems to be waning as the days go by.

Thank you, Michael. It's actually fun to try something new. I can't see reading deeply of this genre, but I liked dipping my toe in the water and appreciate the fact that you suggested this witty author as a good stepping stone!

I am not sure I'd be up for sequel unless there was a tag driving me, but I've never been much of a series girl I have to say.
