Ellen | 3515 comments 40 years after the death of Counselor Deanna Troi, USS Enterprise Commander William Riker still grieves the loss of the only woman he truly loved, his "Imzadi", or soul mate. When he realizes that there might be a way to prevent her death, Riker must decide whether to break the strictest rule of Starfleet and travel back in time to rescue her. Friends and enemies alike will try to prevent Riker from his quest but Riker does not want his 40-year younger self to spend 4 decades without the woman he loves.

Considering I am neither a sci-fi nor a romance aficionado, this was not so bad. My main complaint that it is the 'talkiest' (I'm sure that's not a word) book I have ever read. Pages and pages of endless dialogue with no action until very near the end. I did like the ending; very inventive and satisfying. If you are a fan, you will more than likely appreciate this more than I did.

Susie I feel the same about Star Trek books. Three stars but very easy to read. I used to read them when I was studying and needed light books that didn't strain my brain too much!
