Tom Petty just died.

Bitchie (matron) So sad, I've been a fan for as long as I can remember.

C.E. Stokes | 11 comments When I was in college, we paid $20 for field tickets. Manager gave me and my then boyfriend front row tickets to fill the seats. Best concert of my life.

Sad to hear he died. I always liked his music.

Kitsygirl | 2 comments My SO told me it was a...heart attack? I figured his heart would be in great shape, considering how "relaxed" he seemed to be. I was expecting the CoD to be that he OD'd on pot or drowned in bong water or something. The world lost a very cool dude. So sad.

Chill in Peace, Tom Petty. Keep running down that dream.

Maryam | 17 comments Ursula K. Le Guin has died . . . I can't think of anything to say, just crying.

Skilly Dragonna | 6 comments So, I stumbled upon “Bitten” on Netflix last night. It’s based on the Kelly Armstrong books and I’m wondering if anyone here has seen it. I’m finding that most of the acting is terrible and the guy they picked for Clay just doesn’t mesh. Any thoughts?

Diane | 6 comments I saw a few episodes of Bitten on tv when it first came out, and decided it was unwatchable for the reasons you mentioned and more. Very disappointing and a waste of time.

Hollie Ginoza | 24 comments Completely off topic now. I learned crochet. Does that mean I'm old now?

My son (who gets into things very intensely) pretty much taught himself to crochet a few years ago, in his 20's.

My second job is in a craft and fabric store. We get people of literally all ages who take crochet and knitting classes and just take it up because they see it on You-Tube. If you enjoy it, who cares? I sometimes knit because it makes me feel occupied while I'm watching TV. The going refrain in our store on weekends is "But I didn't know that so many people sew/crochet/craft . . . "

Bridget | 25 comments My mom taught me to crochet when I was about 11 or 12. I think I was complaining about not having anything to do at the time. So, I've been crocheting off and on for around 45 years. Now I am old. :P

Bridget | 25 comments And to go back to the over off-topic topic. I heard that the TV version of Bitten sucked. It's sad since I liked the book so much.

My grandma used to crochet. That's one of the many things I wish I had let her teach me when I had the chance. (she also played piano and guitar and made bomb awesome biscuits and pies!)

Bridget | 25 comments My grandma used to do tatting and I wish I learned it from her. That's the Irish grandma. I wish I paid more attention to the Ukrainian grandma when she was making things like pierogis and kolache.

Hollie Ginoza | 24 comments I'm liking crochet. It's been relaxing. Though I'm getting a cramp in my hand

message 17: by Bridget (new)

Bridget | 25 comments I like it because it's fast compared to knitting. Of course, I haven't been knitting

message 18: by Bridget (new)

Bridget | 25 comments as long as I've been crocheting. Maybe 2 years vs. 40+.
