Johanna (5886046-johanna) | 266 comments It looks like that my English is not good enough and I need help. I found clay, but how do you understand this sentence: "A clay hair bun to the back of his head in gray and yellow, with five ostrich feathers on top." Does clay mean a color here or does the person have clay in his hair? It could be clay, there is also sentence: "Yellow clay lined his cheekbone and victory scars covered his chest and shoulder." Although it doesn't really make sense to have clay in your head but these are tribe men

I'm thinking the hair bun is made of clay but the colors are gray and yellow. The cheek is also yellow.

In this instance clay is a kind of dirt.

No, I don't - this one of those challenges where I just read books and hoped to come across a color word. There is no end date.

You could also look through what the other members read. I do that sometimes when I am stuck on a task.

Johanna (5886046-johanna) | 266 comments I found this: A Silver with lead eyes, a hard
nose, and square-set shoulders that
scream “don’t mess with me.”

Is lead here color or does this mean that person has a "hard eyes"?

Maureen wrote: "Question: would you take ‘his eyes were black pebbles’ for the color pebble?"

No, because black is the color word. Pebble is what black is describing. If it had said "black as pebbles, that would have worked.

"It was a thick volume with disheveled, yellowing pages sandwiched between slabs of greasy black leather."
I'm not sure if it's a color or not here...

I'm going to say yes even though it could mean his face was like stone.

That rule Sharon made about it having to be the color word makes this so difficult.
