This season, and part of last season seems to be showing her as being more like the books. And it doesn't seem that he, unlike Sansa has given any thought to anything beyond taking back the Iron Throne. That's what got her into trouble in the other places she conquered - she's not flexible and does not think things through. (hide spoiler)]

My reasons are pretty much what CBR said, she's an obnoxious brat with tunnel vision, and I've never understood how she gets people to do stuff for her. Now she's basically become Cersei 2.0. Favorite episodes: Winter Is Coming (S1E1), Baelor (S1E9), The Rains of Castamere (S3E9), The Mountain and the Viper (S4E8), The Door (S6E5), Battle of the Bastards (S6E9).

Overall I'm not the biggest fan of Season 6 but Episodes 5 and 9 were great.

Worst episodes: Season 5.

Perhaps. (view spoiler)[The way they've written it in this episode, they're keeping their cards close to their vests. Jon hasn't really said how he feels about all this. At the end of ep. 1 he was just kind of taking it in; when he reveals it to Dany, he doesn't say "I don't want the throne" and he also didn't say "it's rightfully mine." Not to get too metafictional, but I can't decide if this is just the writers maintaining tension or if we should read into what he doesn't say. I mean, up until now, he's been pretty adamant about not wanting any of these leadership roles, reluctantly agreeing first to Lord Commander and then to King in the North because he recognizes that he's needed. It would have been easy for Jon to quickly add "I don't want the throne (just thought you should know you've been banging your nephew)," but he doesn't. Maybe he's still processing it himself. From a purely objective standpoint, Jon is ideal as both a legit Targaryan with the best claim and a Stark (though not the Stark heir): a king that the North could accept to unite the kingdom in a way that Dany can't. But Dany has a lot invested in the idea of being queen, and that's hard to give up. She should bow to the justice of Jon's better claim and the practicality of reuniting the kingdom, not to mention (if prophesy is to be believed) the fact that she can't have children and provide an heir. But will she? Her justification all along has been that she's the rightful queen, but will she accept that she's not, really? Let's not forget that she barely even knows Westeros (and they barely know her). (hide spoiler)]

I wouldn't be surprised if episode three was (view spoiler)[ the Night King showing up at Winterfell, only to scurry home with his tail between his legs after a thorough tongue-lashing from Lyanna. Although she'd probably want to stick him with the pointy end, too, after all that training she's had with every man, woman, boy and girl on Bear Island. (hide spoiler)]

Well, from being a real asshole at the start of the show, Jamie has pretty much redeemed himself by now. On the other hand, Dany is slowly turning into a power-hungry, selfish and unlikable person. As they say: power corrupts. Absolute power is even nicer.

I just finished viewing Sunday night's episode and I have only this to say (no spoilers, I promise): this was the most intense, gripping, white-knuckles 80 minutes of TV experience I have ever watched. It was epic!

Not liking "deus ex machina" ending. They did throw everything into the Battle.

I just finished watching. I don't know if I have words yet. (view spoiler)[ I was afraid for Lyanna the whole time, and now I am devastated. I feel like they thought since everyone likes her so much, let's kill her since we can't kill all the major players yet. I'm surprised no major players died, though. I was expecting more losses.

That end with Arya was fucking cool, I can't deny it. She is back to being number one in my heart. Of the living ones. With Brienne a close second.

Ugh, I agree with that last thought. I cannot take it.

(view spoiler)[ cersei is completely horrible. Nothing redeemable, not even her so called "love" for her children. The fact that no one has killed her off and that she is so protected is fascinating in and of itself. She would be the first person to get murdered; not her dad or her son.

Also, I had heard there would be more of Ghost .... but it just seems they give us flashes of him. No Jon on Ghost action, no seeing Ghost doing anything but stand or run. Very disappointing. I'd be more than happy seeing less giants or dragons for more Ghost.

I love the wolves. Arya's wolf is still alive and Ghost is. I was hoping those dire wolves would last longer than a couple of seasons.

I would love to see the Stark kids running the north with wolves on their side. Sanya would need one

Just watched the last episode. No spoilers but I legit had goosebumps for 78 minutes. The visual production, filming and music is utterly incredible. I am out of words.

The music was very on point in this episode! I especially loved (view spoiler)[ the sort of ticking that made your heart feel like it needs to speed up, paired with the distressing music during the scenes where the wights climb the walls (or after, can't remember exactly.) (hide spoiler)]

The music was key. Built suspense. Fantastic.

I can't believe the talent brought together for this series. Big screen, 'small' screen, whatever screen, they have set a standard and no one is going to top it for along time.

I just wanted to add my opinion, because like everyone else I thought it was an amazing episode. I thought of Anna when (view spoiler)[Lyanna died, and I might have shed a manly tear that she died so bravely.

Arya has been one of my favorites since the beginning of the series, so to see her kill the Night King was awesome.

The culmination Theon's redemption arc was pretty great too. He saved Sansa, he saved his sister, and he protected Bran and then willingly faced his death. He did awful things at times during the beginning of the series, but it was nice to see him return to the Starks.

Melisandre was one of those I hated because of all the evil she did, but it was still cool to see her come back and be such a big help. In the books, the Lord of Light was always so ominous, and I felt like he was just as bad if not worse than the other threats like the White Walkers. So I was actually really surprised when it turns out his servants (Melsandre and Dondarrion) were so instrumental in defeating the Night King. (hide spoiler)]

This third episode of GoT, THE BATTLE OF WINTERFELL, deserves an Emmy Award for best TV drama. I just can't think of any other TV show that approached it. It was a true masterpiece and many of the main actors (especially Maisie Williams) would personally deserve an Emmy.

Character development plays such a big part in Martin's GoT books and the TV series is showing it quite well even though (view spoiler)[I missed the story arcs of Lady Stoneheart, Strong Belwas, Victarion, Ariane Martell, and the real character of Margaery (hide spoiler)]
