Personally I don't like to be inside the head of 10 different characters in a book. I feel the main actor is where the majority of time should be spent and any point of view shifts to other supporters should be shorter in scene or chapter length.
For example a point of view shift to a friend could be three pages, gives you an idea how someone else views the main actor in the story but doesn't keep you inside their head too long.
I find if the main actor is particularly likable I get antsy at having to be in a different time or location from the main character. So keeping anytime away from him to a minimal is good. Like small doses at a time.
What do you think about it?
