Irene--read as many as you want to--if it's only one, that's fine. If you get really ambitious and decide to go for 20, that's OK too. (Not that I'm espousing the 20 number or anything, but hey, if you are feeling really ambitious. . .)
I'll be in PT for the first couple of weeks of September, so have no idea how much reading time I'll be having, but I do usually do the challenges, I just don't post the books. Mostly because, as the Dungeon Master (you my call me God) of the challenges, I don't want to influence anyone with what I do (or do not) read. But reading 10 books, even with the PT isn't hard for me, especially when I'm not feeling good (let's all hear it for car accidents and the lasting damage suffered therefrom) since I use the books as a distraction. Sometimes even a book doesn't work (hence my having a dozen books open at the same time as I try to find SOMETHING that takes my mind off it) but mostly it does. And when it doesn't--well, that's what prescription strength painkillers are for. . .
Some of the books that have been posted already as possible reads look really interesting. Which means that my brand new B&N gift card may be worn out before the start of September. . .

September 2017 challenge
Duration: 9/1/2017 - 9/30/2017
Progress: 8 out of 10
My computer died a sad and horrible death 2 weeks ago. Taking with it all my files. And, while I supposedly had them all backed up on a backup drive, guess what--I can't find them. I am NOT a happy camper right now. Of course, it's too hot to BE anything but an unhappy camper right now, so I'm going to go with a really simple challenge for September.
10 books from 10 different series. 1 book per series. Any book in the series. And if your favourite author has 3 series and you want to do 1 book per series—go for it, show your love for that author. However—this does NOT include spun off series or interlocking series. Examples of this are Patricia Briggs Mercy Thompson and Alpha and Omega Series as interconnecting, and Tanya Huff’s Vicki Nelson and Tony Foster series as spin-off examples. Other than that minor restriction--enjoy your favourite authors and try to cool off (or warm up, depending on where you live) a bit.

Congrats Iain. Er--which series is it the finale for? Just so I know if I want to add yet another series to the 35 or so series that I've got going.

Hum, I'm way behind on that series. But now that it's ended, it must be time for me to get caught up, right? :o)

Oh wow, I did not know that 13 was the last book in the series, and I am going to try and forget the rest of what you said as I am on book 10 and they have only hinted at the possibility.
So lalalalalalalalaaaaaa
Glad she is doing a follow-up. I do love the world she created in that series.

35!
HA, is that all?
I wish I was down to only 35. I can not even get that low if I was to only count my Paranormal Sereis, much less if I include all of the others I read.
*Sigh!*
;-)

So I basically am at some stage of reading 111 series, some stage of finished with 71 series, and abandoned 108 series, for 290 different series...
I didn't realize how "bad" I was until I cataloged it all

Wow!I do not have mine that cataloged, but I have been trying to get a better recording or where I am because I have a tendency to forget to get the next book because I can not use it for a challenge and then it slips my mind.
I also stopped counting after I hit 150 in-progress, so I just know it is more than that. But I hope not as many as yours.
That is truely impressive number of series.

I scanned through my shelves, recorded how many I've read and how many exist as XX.YY where X = books and Y = short stories... so for InCryptid it's something like 6.34... and then if the series is ongoing, ended, or how many are planned... lastly I linked the next book in the series if there is one...
Now I have a list and can find which books I can be reading, and which I am watching for new releases at a click of a button... much easier than digging through the 1700 books in my shelves...

If I admit to more than 35 series started, my hubby will check me into Betty Ford (do they even HAVE a 12 step for reading addicts) so it doesn't matter how many series I have on-going. The total is 35.

Congrats all for your totals this month.

I use that, but I forget to update it as often as I should and still do not have many of my older ones even entered.
