I'll hopefully start Red Sister soon and then catch up on all the other group reads. Well, that's the plan at least :)

I've been back on Red Sister after having to set it aside to finish some betas. Loving it.

I also started Swarm and Steel and my audio is The Silver Linings Playbook

I am three quarters of the way through the Moontide quartet. Just the last one to go now. Have enjoyed it more as the series has gone on and I've got to know the characters better. It's lovely reading a whole new series and being able to finish it rather than having to wait for the final or next instalment.

Come and nominate a book for November.

Finished Eric Brighteyes, which was a fine old viking adventure, and started Star Winds by Barrington J. Bayley, which I remember fondly from, oh, high school?

I finished Prince of Thorns yesterday. Liked it, but not as much as everyone else seemed to.

I started Uprooted, and enjoy it so far.

Continuing with book two in a fun light series With a Single Spell. And because I enjoyed "Senlin Ascends" so much I recommended it to my library for purchase (and the second in the series as well). Yesterday they told me they bought both books, and loaned me their newly purchased copy of Arm of the Sphinx...yay!

I've just recently finished Red Sister and have started The Broken Kingdoms, might throw a non-fiction in the mix, just can't decide which one to pick from my shelf - the reader's dilemma...

Just starting An Echo of things to come by James Islington. I really enjoyed the first book so I have high hopes for this, the second in the Lucanius trilogy

Finished Blood Song. Great start to a series. Rated it 4 stars. Reading a mystery next; Death of a Red Heroine.

Finished Star Winds (it was short) and started Buried Heart, the final in Kate Elliott's Court of Fives trilogy.

I've heard people say Red Sister is very much like Blood Song. What are your thoughts? I ask because unsure of if I should read Blood Song if I wasn't that into Red Sister.

I think you can still enjoy the series even if you didn't like Prince of Thorns. I loved the next two books. But I do think you have to be a grimdark person to like the series.

I enjoyed the darkness of Prince of Thorns until towards the end it was revealed that (view spoiler)[his evilness is the result of some spell. (hide spoiler)]

I'll be finishing The Republic of Thieves and then do a 'quick' reread of The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance

Yeah, I'm halfway through King of Thorns and enjoying it a lot more than Prince. I'm not really a grimdark fan, but Jorg is a truly fascinating character.

Also, I think it didn't really help that I read Prince of Thorns right after binging the Riyria Revelations. The change in tone and atmosphere was... abrupt.

Just finished Age of Swords (Legends of the First Empire 2) and started The Trafalgar Gambit (Ark Royal 3), will also start Sharp Ends (The First Law 7), and then at last will start on The Crippled God (Malazan Book of the Fallen 10) since I've putting it of for while now.
Also for this month planning to read The Golem and the Jinni, and Furies of Calderon (Codex Alera 1).
As for rereading, now I'm on Go set a Watchmen since I recently finished To kill a Mockingbird, as well as Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, along with some Lord of the Rings.

Raven's Shadow is one of the finest Fantasy series I've read. the tale grows more grander with each book, yet somehow Blood Song is still my Favorite.

I loved the sci-fi elements of the Thorns and Fools series. I can totally understand how the change between Sullivan and Lawrence could be jarring! Anytime I get annoyed with fantasy books I return to Sullivan because he's predictably entertaining.

Femmy, I am confused by the spoiler you talked about. Jorg is "evil" because of his childhood experiences from my remembrance.

It's been a while since I read the book so I don't remember it very well, but (view spoiler)[didn't an evil mage cast a spell on him? I think it contributed to his evilness, and also it caused him to always wander the world and not return to his own kingdom or something like that. (hide spoiler)]

I feel the same, I can already tell that I will like any book written by Sullivan. Sanderson is also one of those authors for me.

So many excellent books being read. Buried Heart is on my list this month. I'm currently reading The Desert Spear and listening to The Queen of Blood - can't decide if it's the book or the narrator irritating me.

I've finished Gardens of the Moon, planing on a re-read of some Asimov's science fiction as i've already read Silmarillion at least four times.

How are you finding The Desert Spear? I have been impressed with Peter V. Brett and his ability to provide plenty of detail whilst keeping the action moving. I'm eagerly awaiting book5The Core at the end of the month

I'm reading the Great Ordeal by R Scott Bakker.

Finished Death of a Red Heroine. Not really a mystery. Just a detective story that's more about the social development of China in the early 90s. Now I'm on to Dreamer by Daniel Quinn. It reads like one of Neil Gaiman's darker books.

I've read book one and two plus Bright Thrones as buddies, I'm supposed to read book three but Brett has interrupted.

Oh totally good, I'm around 14% in as being back at school and lesson planning etc is interrupting my happy reading time. I do resent the fact that I'm feeling sympathy for the 'evil' character!!

Oh and I'm going to a book signing at the end of the month with book five :) Which also explains why my reading plan is trashed.

Finished Arm of the Sphinx...even better than the first book in the series. Sadly, from what I've read, the third book will not be out until September 2018.

Now on to Riddle-Master

Given the current rankings in the November poll, it looks like I'm going to start reading The Way of Kings now in order to catch up =D. I wasn't yet in the group when it was read before.

Mine too! I had planned on a full Demon Cycle re-read before book 5 was released.... that's not going to happen now. I could do the re-read after the release i guess but i need to do a Stormlight re-read too. Aarrrrgh.... its all gone wrong!

I've been reading Dreamer by Daniel Quinn. It's not a very well known book with only 98 ratings and 16 reviews but man it's been great so far. For those in the FBC who like Neil Gaiman or Stephen King you have to give this a try. You might say I'm trying to bring light to a book that needs more attention.

Edit: I had to edit this a bit. While this story started off great with such great potential. However, after reading about half of it, it kind of nose dives. I'm hoping it will pick back up.

Finished Night Flower and Bright Thrones (they were short, but very good; although I'd recommend reading Bright Thrones while Poisoned Blade is still fresh in your mind) and started K.J. Parker's The Company.

When I ordered Red Sister, they told me 2 weeks and that was a week before. I have it now and I'm reading it. I'm also reading The Silmarillion (3rd time for this one). So far, I'm doing what I wanted to do since last day of the last month. That's something

Finished Dreamer. All I've got to say is, please read this book. It's amazing. It gets 5 stars. Yes, it has lulls here and there but man what an ending. Now I'm on to Deathless.

Finished The Lost Symbol last night. It was pretty good. A little over long.

I'm taking a break from Robert Langdon now and starting my Halloween read early with House of Leaves.

Finished The Company, which was suitably bleak and witty, and started The Book of Wonder by Lord Dunsany, which is suitably gorgeous and poetic.

And finished The Book of Wonder (it was short) and decided it was time to get caught up on Guy Gavriel Kay, so am reading Children of Earth and Sky.

Finished Deathless. It gets 3 stars. This Russian fairy tale was very beautifully written. But the plot was..for lack of a better word, "Schizophrenic". It seemed to jump all over the place and then it would tell a different version of the three little pigs about five times. I did appreciate the writing style of the author but, to me, it seemed to lack something. Started Forge of Darkness.

Finished Mongrels yesterday. Good premise. Not so much the execution.

Have started Skullsworn. Liking it so far.

Finished To Ride Hell’s Chasm, a wonderfully written tale, and The Crown Tower which was predictably entertaining.

I've really been wanting to read To Ride Hell’s Chasm but I can't seem to fit it in. It's a really big book. I'm reading Forge of Darkness right now (another big book) and it's great. It is a whole lot better than Gardens of the Moon, IMHO.

I was reading the Unholy Consult until I just straight up rage quit . Now, I have no idea what to read.
