Miche | 3279 comments Scythe was on sale and I couldn't resist. Arc of a Scythe by Neal Shusterman added to the already bought but didn't read list.

message 53: by Miche (new)

Miche | 3279 comments I just noticed Shattered Realms by Cinda Williams Chima was listed on my bought but not read list.

Moved that one to DNF, as I dropped The Demon King at 26%.

Miche | 3279 comments The Dragon Reborn - that brings me to 3/14 at Wheel of Time.

I read The Demon King, but it was a struggle. I only finished it as it met a challenge category for me.

The princess really got to my nerves. It passed the point of "rolling eyes" to "burn this book in a bonfire" kind of feeling. ;)

Absolutely, she was so annoying.

Thank you, Tammie!

I also reread Words of Radiance and Edgedancer this month in preparation for Oathbringer. It doesn't look like I advanced much, but in page count I think it was a great month for me. :)

I don't know how you read all that in one month. Way too much epicness all at once for my brain, haha.

message 69: by Bill (new)

Bill | 2150 comments Nice job Miche. I did a lot of reread this month too. Made me feel like I didn't make much progress.

I am paying the price: huge book hangover. :D I am hoping Malazan will take me out of it.

Call me crazy but I might reread Oathbringer in December. lol

Thank you, Bill! It was a quiet month for my challenges because of the rereads. But they were worth it!

Did you like the first unwind book? I've almost bought it a few times. Also, great progress. :)

Thank you, Niki!

I really liked Unwind. It is a thought-provoking and disturbing book. It has a good pace too. It distinguishes itself from the others dystopian yas in the market.

I have yet to continue the series. I had put it aside because it is kind of creepy and at the time I was in a mood for something more uplifting.

That makes sense - at least I have a good quality book to look forward to. Although I'm kind of a wimp when it comes to creepy stuff haha.

I am a wimp for creepy too. Don't worry, this one is well balanced and doesn't overdo it. However, I have to admit that there is a scene in it that still makes me squirm just thinking about it. It is kind of funny reading the reviews, as everybody mentions it like "the scene" or "that scene" without further explanations, but anyone that read the book knows exactly which scene they are talking about.

The famous scene wasn't graphic, but it was very thought-provoking.

I believe you might like this book. :)

P.S.: but don't blame me if you hate it! ;)

I didn't think it was creepy either. I would say that scene is rather disturbing.

message 85: by Miche (new)

Miche | 3279 comments I decided to abandon Greatcoats by Sebastien de Castell (1/4).

The first book was good, but not good enough to hold my attention. It took me months to read it and it gave me a reading slump.

I have a lot of other series that I am more interested than this one, so it was time to let it go.

message 86: by Miche (new)

Miche | 3279 comments The Bonehunters - completed. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

That brings Malazan Book of the Fallen to 6/10.

I noticed a lot of people enjoyed the 2nd and 3rd books. Maybe one day I will decide to try them, but for the moment they didn't pick my interest. I have way too many books that look more interesting in my high priority list.
