Does anyone have thoughts on Sandman Slim? Is that Action Horror or just Urban Fantasy?
Does anyone have thoughts on World War Z? Is it horror-ish enough? Action-ated enough?
Like I said - no great ideas for this, myself...

To be completely honest my exposure to Monster Hunters was in an anthology and I was quite underwhelmed. I've thought about giving Corriera (?correct spelling) a second chance, but I've enough other writers I'm more interested in following and trying.

..."I did the first Sandman Slim as an audiobook and I do plan on listening to more of the series. My commute has changed so I'm not in the car/on the road by foot as much as I was previously.
I read World War Z and I thought it was excellent. I went in with very low expectations though, because of the current zombie craze. I think Brooks chose an excellent method, the first person interviews, to convey the length and horrors of the war (personal opinion-I think this works well in some non-fiction setting also).

The reverse is also true. If I go in with high, more than once I've wondered what I missed that everyone else said was great. Which is I try, not always successfully, to be neutral when I start a book.

Sorry, Lisa. We read that one already. I had to check the list to make sure.

The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski. Okay this is my choice. I changed it like four times already, but I think I'm good.
Geralt of Rivia is a witcher. A cunning sorcerer. A merciless assassin.
And a cold-blooded killer.
His sole purpose: to destroy the monsters that plague the world.
But not everything monstrous-looking is evil and not everything fair is good. . . and in every fairy tale there is a grain of truth.
The international hit that inspired the video game: The Witcher

Hey, Mike. Did you decide which book you wanted to nominate? I will give you until tomorrow to post a link for the book. Thanks.
I didn't hear back from Mike about the book he nominated, so I created the poll. You can vote on the October group read book through September 16th.

Google/Wikipedia defines this as: "A subgenre combining the intrusion of an evil force, event, or personage of horror with the weapon fights and frenetic chases of the action genre. Themes or elements often prevalent in typical action-horror films include gore, demons, Aliens, vicious animals, vampires and, most commonly, zombies."
That gives us a lot of room to work with. So feel free to make some suggestions for the book you'd like to read in September.
Here are the other considerations:
1. One nomination per group member. The books must be nominated with a Goodreads link by clicking on 'add book/author'. If a book does not have a Goodreads link, it will not be added to the poll.
2. Books need to be readily available, ie, in print (able to buy new or in ebook format).
3. Books should have some degree of action/adventure content.
4. Past group reads are not eligible to be nominated again. The past group discussions remain open for members to comment. You can consult the list of past reads here:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
The poll will go up September 8th.
