Nothing new, Hollywood has a long history of discrimination.
At least Skrein has more principles than Johansson in the bruhaha over her casting as Kusanagi in Ghost in the Shell.
Skrein said it is his "hope that one day these discussions will become less necessary," and what while he's "sad" to leave the film, "if this decision brings us closer to that day, it is worth it."

I was just talking with my brother last night about Star Trek and how in TNG you have entire races that are "black" (Klingons, Ferengi). It would seem a natural way to expand the diversity of your cast with African American actors in the role, but it shocked me the first time you see these people with the make up off and most of them are white...even when you have a black alien race, minority actors like Michael Dorn are the exception.
