Michelle Kobus (rainbowsunset) | 123 comments I've been listening to the audio version of The Red Pyramid, borrowed from my library; I own a paperback version, but I feel less guilty about wasting time online now because I listen to that while web-surfing. ;) Soon, I'm going to start Feast of Fates, which I won in a Goodreads giveaway last month. Also, I still have The Path of Daggers and Wizard's First Rule on my currently reading shelf and I'll be continuing them at some point, too.

Dawn (breakofdawn) | 860 comments I'm an idiot. I'm never going to read anything new ever again.

I started reading some summaries of the first two Stormlight Archive books. And they REALLY made me want to re-read them. But no, I told myself. That's really stupid. They are huge books and you can't re-read them every time a new one comes out.

And then I started The Way of Kings anyway. I'm hopeless. It's so good.

I love this post. :D

message 8: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (quiltsrme) | 119 comments I am still 8 books behind with my Goodreads Readers Challenge so focusing on shorter works in my TBR. Currently listening to the Myth series by Robert Asprin. Then i will move on to some shorter Scifi (250 pages or less). Later i can return to some longer books.

Maybe i will actually FINISH my LOTR reread. Still have the last book to go.

message 9: by Nyssa (new)

Nyssa | 2023 comments My focus has been completely on EdPsych: Modules, 2nd edition and A Graphical Approach to Algebra and Trigonometry with MyMathLab & eText Access Code for school. My work load (at school and work) is really heavy, so I've had little time for much else.
I've been using the days off, due to Irma, to catch up.

message 10: by Stephanie (new)

Stephanie (quiltsrme) | 119 comments Dawn, I eliminated the guilt of rereads by getting audiobooks of those books. So while cooking, doing housework, I can listen to something I read before and save my knitting or free time for new books that require more attention.

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 5312 comments I feel absolutely no guilt for re-reading the same 10 or so books each year.

Every. Year.

Sometimes more than once in the same year.

message 12: by Dawn, Dawnerys, Mother of Modding (new)

Dawn (breakofdawn) | 860 comments I do audio books for a lot of re-reads, but not for my most favorite books. Those I want to READ, and savor. Something gets lost in translation for me when I listen to audiobooks.

message 13: by Michelle (last edited Sep 14, 2017 01:46PM) (new)

Michelle Kobus (rainbowsunset) | 123 comments Reading The Dragonbone Chair and listening to The Empty Grave on audiobook.

message 14: by Greg (new)

Greg | 201 comments Today, I finished reading Naruto (3-in-1 Edition), Vol. 1: Includes Vols. 1, 2 & 3, which I gave four stars. Had I read only the first of the three books in this three-book omnibus, I might have given it just three stars, but the narrative improved across the three books. Annoyingly, it ended on a cliffhanger ending....

On Saturday, I finished reading Snow Crash in its 25th-anniversary year. While the book shows its age in places, and its fundamental plot device is a bit far-fetched, I enjoyed this cyberpunk novel for its action, interesting characters and technology, and for its weird futuristic politics in a highly fragmented America.

Michelle Kobus (rainbowsunset) | 123 comments Currently reading Winter's Heart and The Dragonbone Chair for the first time, and rereading The Golden Compass (This time on audiobook; the library has at least book 2 of His Dark Materials on audio as well, so I'll probably continue my reread that way), as well as D.Gray-man, Vol. #3 (I'm going to reread the whole series; I'd lile to read all 20-odd volumes of Black Butler, but I borrowed most of them and will have to get my own copies now!).
