L.E. Doggett (ldwriter2) | 60 comments Read that one a while back.

Good fight scenes even though they go by rather quickly.

Cody | 24 comments I read this a few months ago and really enjoyed it, it is like reading a Michael Bay film.

Tip for anyone reading the rest of the series - skip chapter 1 and the pages when he describes the meeting room, the books become a lot more fun without this repetition

Ally | 99 comments I am reading the entire series. Right now I'm reading Invincible . They are not the best military sci-fi ever written. I'm skipping the battles (yes I know, it's supposed to be the best part for some fans of the genre). I'm still intrigued and it's not repetitive wich is quite a feat. I think there is not enought humour and we don't know a lot about the others characters beside the main one.
Lt. Leary Lt. Leary, Commanding was funier.

Eric | 17 comments I found this book to be an enjoyable and quick read.

The battles usually go by fast. The set up sometimes takes a few pages however.

I read this a few years ago when I read the first five books of the series. I enjoyed it well enough, but I think on the whole it was pretty forgettable. As was the series.

message 8: by Richard (new)

Richard | 60 comments I also read the series awhile back. It was a welcome diversion during a stressful time in my life so remember the series fondly. It's the one bit of military science fiction that was ok (I find a lot of it irritating) though by the end the battle scenes started getting "you've seen one you've seen them all". And when they finally went to Earth it kind of seemed a little strange and anti-climactic if not silly. As much as I enjoyed it I have to admit it doesn't have some of the complexity and depth (characters plot setting) of a lot of the recent monthly reads.

Tony | 15 comments I read this a few years ago. It was a fun and quick read and hooked me enough to keep going with the series.
