Omg. I'm glad I asked because I don't usually look at the br trackers. I LOVE how you have the series all neat and lined up with all the remaining books in a spoiler. May I use that? :D I also like the cover images for the list.

I'm hoping more of my reads throughout the rest of the year will be books I own, so hopefully setting them on their own shelf will be encouraging to see it diminish throughout the month.

I may be stupid but I went back and read aaaalll the thread but couldn't get what was the "Tackling the TBR" challenge xD could one of you explain it to me ? if it's that helpful I should perhaps try it ^^

It's a method I came up with a few years ago to help me prioritize reading (I was stuck in a rut of reading books I felt obligated to rather than the ones I would actually enjoy).

You should totally try it! :D

Well that seems indeed really good ! Kind of what I am doing in June actually. This month I've decided to devote myself to favorite authors or series that can sometimes get sidetracked... I don't think I will be able to read everything (quite sure I won't to be honest, my TBR is way too ambitious xD) but I'm really excited about reading this month ! (and that's kind of the point ^^)

(I did skim a bit at some point, looking for those magical words ^^) (and don't feel to bad about it, I like to see progress made by others, even old ones ^^)

I usually don't look at BR trackers either. Apart from Diana's. I go there once a month to feed her more BRs and throw her schedule in chaos lol.

Of course you can use the series in spoiler thing ;)
I usually remove the spoiler tag and put a series on top of the list when I start it. But I finished several series in May so that all non-BR series I'm focusing on are entirely in my TBR for June :) (does that make sense? I'm a little bit tired :p)

I think having a physical TBR shelf to tackle will be very encouraging! I do that with the mangas I get from the library. I even put 'encouraging' sticky notes every 3 volumes so that when I grab it, I get a "You're doing great!" message from my past self xD

I just checked out your challenge. :) Nothing beats having a TBR that makes you truly excited to read more. I think I get through books twice as fast when that happens. This month for me is definitely more of an "i'm all over the place" kind of month.

Yes that makes sense - and thank you! I'm totally going to use it in my overflowing bookshelf challenge so I don't have to waste time looking up next books every time I finish one. I couldn't figure out a way to do it without having a list 10 miles long, so woohooo!! (Do you feel our constant organizational synergy? Because I do lol)

I'm definitely still interested, but I didn't obtain an arc (dang it). I show it comes out on the 19th. Did you want to wait that long? I could always just jump in after the fact. Fashionably late.

Yeah that makes sense. I should also mention that I'm out of audible credits and waiting on a library copy for this one. I'll hit you up when it comes in and see if you're still reading. :)

Yeah, being all excited and impatient to dive into your TBR is what's important :) Reading should never feel like a chore :p

Thank you ^_^ I've been trying to find a way to incorporate covers without it looking cluttered (I got the idea from Angela), and this is the perfect solution! :)

FYI instead of looking them up again, all you have to do is type "cover" after book within the link and it will automatically change it. If that makes sense. And if you didn't already know that.

lol thanks! If you enjoyed the slower pacing of the first one, I think you'll like this one as much as I did. Especially the last 25% or so. I'm very happy with this series so far.

oh oh so it seems there is something in the air causing us to go all over the board in the book buying. I can't see no other explaination. (well, all of us except you, Niki, you only bought something you had already read ! I wouldn't even have count it since it doesn't add anything to the TBR pile of Doom ! Now that is inspiring.)

Yeah. I wanted to buy a new phone (mine is 8 years old and dying), decided against it when I realized how many books I could buy instead, indulged in book shopping... and bought the phone anyway.

I'm really excited and want to cry at the same time x)

I am doing pretty well limiting myself to things I've read. I still have about 10 already read titles to "earn" before I'd start buying new stuff (at full price. bargain books are another matter...). I'm also kind of cheating because I'm not counting audible credits used as a book purchase - only when I bring home physical copies. :)

The worst part of this is that I had a conversation in the car with a coworker this morning about how people were all happy and giddy today thanks to the World's Cup, and therefore were going to fall for all those sales "like idiots" and buy tons of stuff.

Our conversation on the way back home, in the evening:
Him: "- Did you buy anything online today?
Me: - Yup. A phone.... And books. Lots of books. You?
- Laptop. And a weird kitchen gadget I don't need....
- So... We're idiots?
- Yup. We're idiots."
