Mrs J- my understanding is that this "duology" takes place 2 years after the Shadow and Bone (The Grisha Trilogy). From what Leigh said, you don't need to read the previous trilogy to read Six of Crows, but there are characters that are mentioned in this one from the previous trilogy.

It's possible that I've just become lazy - modern writers just give it up to you like $2 pros - and I hadn't received any explanations yet.

I'm also finding it a bit slow to get into, but that's because I'm still on the 'gather your party' pages.

Yep. Me, too.
I put it down but I plan to pick it up again. The book is just unbelievable beautiful. I refuse to believe it's not fun and interesting, too.

There were a few parts that were a little hard to follow, or times when the action got a bit bogged down with exposition...
But, overall, I thought it was decent. Probably liked the characters more than the plot, though.
I liked it enough that I want to jump right into the next book, though.

There's a large part of me, though, which is mostly just obsessed with (view spoiler)
