Sanford Hausler | 9 comments Can anyone recommend any out of print science fiction books that you think are worth readying?

Thanks.

Trike Every book that I looked up, such as the wonderful Pelbar Cycle by the late Paul O. Williams, starting with The Breaking of Northwall, still exists in ebook form. I'm not sure there is anything that's truly OOP any more.

Which sounds like a good thing.

The Stainless Steel Rat (Stainless Steel Rat, #4) by Harry Harrison

Cheryl (cherylllr) I've loved the short story collections on librivox.org. They're public domain works from Project Gutenberg, narrated by volunteers. Not all are excellent, but Phil Chenevert is a really good narrator, and Mark Nelson iirc. There are some little gems in there, PKD, Vonnegut, Simak, etc.

Best Story I have read by Simak, is Way Station. Not your usual story telling, but pure Sci-Fi

Cheryl (cherylllr) Way Station is probably Simak's best and best-known work, and probably still in print. I'm due to reread it pretty soon I think....

I am reading a collection of short stories by him now, called:
City by Clifford D. Simak

So far it is interesting.

Kateb | 959 comments loved way station by Simak, but also liked "time is the simplest thing", as well as the "Goblin Reservation".

Then other books are not really that good. But he definitely has a different take on some things
