Isabella | 30 comments Hi everyone! Lately I've been having a problem with finding a really good book. I'm looking for a book with action or adventure in it and characters like Day and June from the Legend series or any characters from Leigh Bardugo's books (Six of Crows and Ruin and Rising...). Also the Divergent series and The Hunger Games were two of my favorites. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

Tracy | 11 comments Hi Isabella! I hope you'll check out The Resistance Series. It's a fast-paced dystopian thriller about Tommy and Careen, who meet as the country is reeling from a terrorist attack. When they discover the antidote distributed by the government isn't meant to protect against the purported toxins in the air, but is instead being used to subdue and control the people, they join a resistance group that's determined to bring the truth to light. You can download the prequel free here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M27CSWM

The Falconer has been a really good series for me so far if you want to check that out. The characters are hilarious and there's a lot of action and adventure. I was surprised by how much I liked it because it includes genres like steampunk and historical fiction which I usually don't read, but it also has fantasy and romance. It's really good!

The Falconer (The Falconer, #1) by Elizabeth May

You can also try:
Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days, #1) by Susan Ee (Great action and the main character is on the hunt to find her sister)
Nightshade (Nightshade #1; Nightshade World #4) by Andrea Cremer (Loved some of the characters)
Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor (Great characters and action)
Monument 14 (Monument 14, #1) by Emmy Laybourne (apocalyptic where 14 kids who are very different must stick together and keep each other alive)

I have a dystopian book coming out soon if you were interested in reading that. It's called Gold Shadow and I'm looking for ARC readers.

It will be out by mid December at the latest. If you want, I can notify you when it's out on Amazon :)

Farren (mmmcookies) | 302 comments Try The Testing Trilogy by Joelle Charbonneau! It's such a good dystopian where kids are competing for a spot in the country's only university. The characters are all incredibly smart, and even though it has trials, action, killing for survival, etc. like a lot of other series, there was something about it that really set it apart.

I also like to recommend The Park Service Trilogy by Ryan Winfield. I got the first one free on kindle and it's a pretty unknown series. The main character lives in an underground society believing the world above has been destroyed by humans until an accident lands him on the surface, where he discovers the world is unblemished so long as it's safe from human harm. I like how the story contains a moral message without being preachy and annoying about it.

I also just finished In the After and really enjoyed it. Amy comes home from school and turns on the news just like any other day, except on this day she discovers that aliens have arrived and are killing any humans they find. She's all alone until she comes across a mute toddler and takes her in. The first part of the book is survival horror and rest is more typical dystopian science fiction.

Cadence Cavanaugh (cadencecavanaugh) | 24 comments The Passing If i can self plug :) If not please remove.

It's a dystopian novel set in the future and nobody lives past the age of twenty-five years old. It's heavily featured around two best friends, but there are multiple story lines that entertwine, much like Game of Thrones. YA, with edge.
