Anita Pomerantz | 9287 comments Please vote for the tag you would most like to read for October at the following link:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FTQ8SHV

You may click on the answer choices in the survey to see a listing of books that fit each tag.

Remember, you may cast up to a total of 10 participation points for your choice. Everyone gets one vote for free so please vote even if you don't have any participation points!

Some of you have earned the one time right to use 20 participation points as an award for completing one of our challenges. If you have that right, feel free to exercise it. You must have the 20 points saved in order to expend them.

You can see how many participation points you currently have in the spreadsheet below.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

Happy voting! Please cast your votes by 12 pm EST on 9/23.

Note: If no one choice receives more than 50% of the vote, people who chose the least popular choice will be asked to recast their votes for one of the remaining two options.

Sushicat | 843 comments Now that a bit of a different selection. I'd be fine with any of them.

message 3: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (tstan) | 1261 comments All are kind of broad, but I have plenty to fit them.

message 4: by Jen (new)

Jen | 1545 comments Voted. Meh, so broad. I don't particularly care which one wins. I have books for all of them.

message 5: by Karin (new)

Karin | 9232 comments All are broad, but only one of these had a number of books on my tbr on the first page. However even if the one shelf here I dread wins, it's no problem because there are a couple of books I would happily reread for that one. I actually care a little bit which one wins.

message 6: by Susie (new)

Susie I'd like to avoid one, but I'm confident it won't get through. I've got a few options for both of the others. Voted.

message 7: by Booknblues (new)

Booknblues | 12091 comments Voted. I don't have a strong feeling about any. I have books in all categories, but none I really want to read right now.

message 8: by LibraryCin (new)

LibraryCin | 11696 comments Interesting... None stand out for me, but I'm going to guess I'll have something to fit any of them!

DianeMP | 534 comments Voted! Love the selection of nonfiction in at least two categories. But something to read in every one. Yea!

Thanks, but no thanks.

Joni | 626 comments Still deciding if I will vote on this one or not. I am just not feeling any of these, but I have researched and have books in mind that will work for each one.

message 16: by Ladyslott (new)

Ladyslott | 1880 comments I own at least three books for each tag so I am fine with any of them.

message 17: by Nicole R (new)

Nicole R (drnicoler) | 8088 comments Hahaha, Nikki D! I know you DNF it, but I am still curious...

message 18: by Jenni Elyse (last edited Sep 16, 2017 02:49PM) (new)

Jenni Elyse (jenni_elyse) Ugh. Worst choices ever. I don't get satire (I'm autistic and very literal, though I've learned to not be as literal as Drax from GotG) and marriage or society don't sound all that exciting. Maybe, I could find something for either of those shelves, though.

Oh I finished. I want you to read it. I really do.

message 20: by Nicole R (new)

Nicole R (drnicoler) | 8088 comments I pictured a maniacal laugh after that.

message 21: by Book Concierge (new)

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 8422 comments Totally UNinspired by this month's choices. I've cast my vote.

message 22: by Nicole (new)

Nicole | 684 comments For how broad each of these categories are, I'm surprised at how few options I already have on my TBR for each.

Although I didn't vote for it, there are a lot of really good non-fiction options that fall under 'society'. I would be happy with that as well!

message 23: by Anita (new)

Anita Pomerantz | 9287 comments It's funny how everyone is saying the tags are so broad, because two of them came from nearly the end of the top 300 tag list. Satire was the only one that was high up on the list.

message 24: by Marina (new)

Marina (sonnenbarke) I'd be happy with two of them. Not so much with another one, but I'm sure I could find something that fits. Voted.

message 25: by Amy (new)

Amy | 12931 comments I now wish I had voted differently. But I'm not really all that concerned about it. I think having been away in California, my ability to do a thoughtful search was more limited. I now wish I'd thrown my votes in a different direction. But my guess is that the one I should've voted for one likely win anyway. Truly fine with any winner.

Amy,

I deleted your vote. You can re-cast it to match up with your wishes.

message 27: by Amy (new)

Amy | 12931 comments Seriously? Let me see if my phone will let me vote twice! Otherwise, when I get back to Boston tonight. Thank you for that gift. (Maybe you didn't live what I picked either - lol.)

Amy | 12931 comments Re-voted. Thanks, Anita and 🍎🍯

No, I liked what you had originally, lol. But it's really not a big deal at all if someone wants to recast their vote.

message 30: by Jenni Elyse (new)

Jenni Elyse (jenni_elyse) Anita, will you delete mine as well so I can re-vote?

Sure thing - - just give me 5 minutes.

There are some books in the satire shelf that I wouldn't call satire, or are but still have a lot to offer even to a literal person (eg Pride and Prejudice is on there--can't remember what else I saw there).

I only thought of two of them as broad, but then there was at least one I don't like.

message 35: by Kristel (new)

Kristel (kristelh) | 699 comments I had two of those that will fit my main read for next month so went with the one that might fit the best. Much better choices (in my opinion) this month.

Pride and Prejudice would work for society and marriage, too.

message 37: by Ashley Breanna (new)

Ashley Breanna (ashleybreanna13) | 92 comments I voted for society, as I had the most tbr books under that tag. I can find something in any of the tags, really.

That's true, but I have read the ones I'm interested in, including P&P. But, if push comes to shove, I could reread something.

Yes, that book is win/win/win and I may well reread it if the shelf I don't care for wins.

message 40: by Joi (new)

Joi (missjoious) | 3970 comments Wow! I made it back in time to vote for October :) I'm good with all 3 tags.

EEK I still need to fit a book in for this month's America tag!!

Me too, how hard can it be to read a book for the tag "America"?

That was what went through my head the month we read "contemporary fiction" many years ago! Still the only tag I didn't read...

We lost power for about 7 hours, lucky only that much. My brother and wife evacuated to our house and they lost power for 4 days. We also lost cable for 5 days and that was the hardest - nothing to entertain the visitors with! Plus no internet, no information about the rest of the world except via my smartphone. All in all - we did much better than some parts of the state.

Ugh. Even seven hours seems unpleasant, but I'm really glad it wasn't four days! ACK on the no cable . . .though I could just read for five days, but very hard with visitors.
