Courtney Chaney | 4 comments I would love recommendations on books I really need to try to read someday. It doesn't matter the genre.

This will also help people find books they might of not known about too.

I hope this wasn't already a topic. If it is I apologize.

What kind of books do you like to read?

message 3: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 384 comments If you like mystery, I would recommend anything written by Agatha Christie. My favorites are And Then There Were None and Murder on the Orient Express

Cindy | 384 comments To Dance with the White Dog by Terry Kay. It is the best book I have read in 2017.

Courtney Chaney | 4 comments Rosemarie, I like horror ones like some do Stephen King's books. (I've only read a few) I will try to read any book that I find interesting.

I think you might like The Monk by Matthew Lewis, which is a Gothic novel. Dracula by Bram Stoker is really good. I don't generally like horror, but I really liked Dracula.

Holly (rollyrabbit) Best book I've read this year is A Skinful of Shadows, by Frances Hardinge it's amazing, highly recommend it. It's a sort of eerie magical realism. So good.

Sarah, A Tale Of Two Cities is a good choice for Dickens!

Michael | 26 comments I would also throw in Crime and Punishment by Dostoyevsky. It's one of the books I read once in HS and again in college...and which I enjoyed thoroughly for both courses (but for different reasons).

You get a different perspective when you read books you have studied before for enjoyment. You must have had a different experience reading the book at various levels, Michael. I hope that the third time is even better.

Michael | 26 comments I'm sure that if/when I ever read it again, I'll be looking at it on a spiritual level rather than on the literary analysis level. Since I don't *have* to read it this time I'll probably have a much different perspective. Thanks Rosemarie!
