Eliza | 44 comments Fall is coming....which means Halloween is coming!! I am searching for scary paranormal romance reads (historical preferably, but not required). Simone St. James books have everything I'm looking for, but I can only read them so many times. Anyone have any suggestions? Scarier the better! ....and I know this isn't a popular opinion, but I'm just not into Karina Halle....believe me, I've tried! Please and thank you!

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) | 839 comments They aren't historical but Amanda Stevens Graveyard Queen series is really good and complete, which is even better and there is some romance.

If you want some that are more paranormal than they are romance (also not historical, sorry!) then the Ellie Trapper series by J.L. Bryan is also really good.

Eliza | 44 comments Thank you! Definitely going to check these out

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) | 839 comments Ann Charles Deadwood series is really good as well and heavier on the romance.

I'm trying really hard to think of something historical and scary and there don't seem to be a lot out there. There is the book Whispers Beyond the veil but it isn't really scary per se. Or even the series by Jaime Lee Moyer also set in the 1920's, again ghosts but not really scary but still really good!

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 451 comments I don't know how scary these would be, but have you tried the Saint-Germain Chronicles by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro? Hôtel Transylvania (Saint-Germain, #1) by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro

Viola Calvary | 4 comments Are there any decent ones about Elizabeth Bathory? That story seems like it's made for a historical thriller.

Eliza | 44 comments I was thinking along the lines of Simone St. James. Not sooooo scary, but definitely scarier than most-- and there is always romance.

I second her! She is a good one!

Susanna Kearsley is a good one as well. Not super scary though but there are creepy moments with some of the ghosts.
