The Gothic Novel Book Club <Hiatus> discussion

I was really enjoying the book, although I couldn't really get immersed in it because of the format-- I found the shifts between diaries, cameras, recordings, etc to be kind of jarring, and it was easier to read in short bursts. Everything was great until Part 3, then the story completely fell apart for me. Everything was coming together very nicely, then everything got turned on its head and nothing seemed to be resolved, and there are questions and loose ends all over. I'm giving the book 4 stars-- it would have been 5, but I hated the ending.

I also enjoyed the book it reminded me of another book I previously read called The Dead House. (Which is also a good book) I found the way the characters linked together to be cleverly done, the code names gave it more of a challenge to try and guess who was who. I agree with Suki though, the ending was kind of 'blah'.

I've read the Dead House. Couldn't really understand much of what was going on towards the end.

It was one of those good books that you enjoy but it leaves you with questions. I read The Dead House with a few of my friends and we all kind of had different feelings about the ending as well. It leaves room for discussions that is for sure.

I think there is a companion book to it. It may only be an ebook but supposedly it helps you understand. It's about Naida.
I was wondering if that would help. I hate not figuring at least something out.
