I fucking hate Google. 👿
This one is dedicated to Margret and her sensibilities. :)
So tell me who are you dissing, maybe I'm missing
The reason that you're smilin' or wildin', so listen
In my head, I just want to take 'em down
Imagination set loose and I'm gonna shake 'em down
Let it flow like a mud-slide
When I get on, I like to ride and glide
I've got depth of perception in my text, y'all
I get props at my mention cause I vex, y'all

And that's the way the world is
But I don't believe in laying back
Sayin' how bad your luck is
I'm terrible at these... but the internet is a miraculous thing... highlight the lyrics... right click... search google for "HIGHLIGHTED TEXT"... Google either pulls up the lyrics on one of them lyrics websites, or google itself knows and pulls up the music video...

Beastie Boys. I had to look yours up. It was familiar but I was never going to get there.

You're right Kieron... there's a reason I don't use my illicit google knowledge to make "guesses"... at least I can possibly go listen to the song with google... and I had a general idea of which song Margret quoted once Scott listed the opener... I can hear that voice in my head 2 decades later from car trips as a kid...

Is it dark outside or light?
Last night was sordid, but we conquered the boredom
We wanna be cool and liked, but you won't see me crawling
Don't wanna make this awkward
I'm feeling nauseous
And I'm seeing four of us
But we came with five
And we don't waste time
We're live or die
But we choose life

And I can't help but ask myself
How much I let the fear take the wheel and steer
It's driven me before
And it seems to have a vague, haunting mass appeal
But lately I'm
Beginning to find that I should be the one behind the wheel
@Ahdam! Oh wow I didn’t even clue into that! I suppose that’s why there was some other videos from (view spoiler)
You could be my someone
You could be my scene
You know that I'll protect you
From all of the obscene
I wonder what you're doing
Imagine where you are
There's oceans in between us
But that's not very far
You could be my scene
You know that I'll protect you
From all of the obscene
I wonder what you're doing
Imagine where you are
There's oceans in between us
But that's not very far

And you would say nothing's changed at all
And I can't feel much hope for anything
If I won't be there to catch you if you fall
CHORUS - which I skipped :)
Another game of putting things aside
As if we'll come back to them some time
A brace of hope a pride of innocence
And you would say something has gone wrong
I saw them in a small venue probably 5 or so years ago. I don’t know what was in the water that night but a lot of people were a wee bit too frisky on the floor. I (once again) lost my monocle.

Puddle of Mudd? I saw them at a festival a good few years back. Good times!
Is losing your monocle a euphemism? xD
It means I’m a country bumpkin and was shocked to see public friskiness
OR
Does it mean I lost my monocle because I joined in..

I had to look it up. I haven't hear them or that song in next to forever. I had a friend who was a huge fan and I think of him and his wife whenever I hear them.

I've got the understanding of a four year old
I've got the piece of mind of a killer's soul
I've got the rationale of a New York cop
I've got the patience of a chopping block
I've got the acumen of a seasoned pro
I've got the legacy of a billion souls
I've got the world down my back, but I don't seem to care
I've got the comprehension of a world unaware

I guess the stones are coming too fast for her now
You know I'd like to believe this nervousness will pass
All the stones that are thrown are building up a wall
[Chorus] - skipped
I'd like to believe we could reconcile the past
Resurrect those bridges with an ancient glance
But my old stone face can't seem to break her down
She remembers bridges, burns them to the ground
Too heavy too light too black or too white.......cumbersome.
I saw them play back in the late 90's at a pool hall/bar. Seven Mary Three. The only other song I could recall off the top of my head was Water's Edge.

One of my favorite 90's bands.
I am still living with your ghost
Lonely and dreaming of the west coast
I don't want to be your downtime
I don't want to be your stupid game
With my big black boots and an old suitcase
I do believe I'll find myself a new place
I don't want to be the bad guy
I don't want do your sleepwalk dance anymore
I just want to see some palm trees
I will try and shake away this disease
We can live beside the ocean
Leave the fire behind
Swim out past the breakers
Watch the world die

It's twelve o'clock and it's a wonderful day
I know you hate me but I'll ask anyway
Won't you come with me to a place in a little town
The only way to get there's to go straight down
There's no bathroom and there is no sink
The water out of the tap is very hard to drink
Very hard to drink
Yes Everclear, Santa Monica.
Yours is Silverchair.
Another 90's favorite
My shadow's shedding skin and
I've been picking Scabs again
I'm down, digging through my old muscles
Looking for a clue.
I've been crawling on my belly
Clearing out what could've been
I've been wallowing in my own confused
And insecure Delusions
For a piece to cross me over
Or a word to guide me in
I wanna feel the changes coming down
I wanna know what I've been hiding
Yours is Silverchair.

Some say we'll see Armageddon soon
I certainly hope we will
I sure could use a vacation from this
Bullshit three ring circus sideshow of
Freaks
Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call L.A.
the only way to fix it is to flush it all away
Any fucking time, any fucking day
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona Bay
Another great song by Tool. Such an underrated band. I think Schism might be my favorite song of theirs but Aenema and 46&2 are both up there.

An old man turned ninety-eight
He won the lottery and died the next day
It's a black fly in your Chardonnay
It's a death row pardon two minutes too late

Not even fifteen minutes later after walking down the street
When I saw the shadow of a man creep out out of sight
And then he swept up from behind, he put a gun up to my head
He made it clear he wasn't looking for a fight
He said, "Give me all you've got, I want your money not your life
But if you try to make a move I won't think twice"
I told him, "You can have my cash, but first you know I gotta ask
What made you want to live this kind of life?"

One of my favorite songs and also one of the saddest. Love the vocals.
Allie woke up 8AM
Graduation day.
Got into a car,
And crashed along the way.
When we arrived late to the wake,
Stole the urn while they
Looked away,
And drove to the beach
'Cause I knew you'd want it
That way.
And you were standing
On the hood of the car
Singing out loud
When the sun came up.
And I know I wasn't right,
But it felt so good.
And your mother didn't mind,
Like I thought she would.
And that REM song was playing
In my mind.
