message 1: by Tati (new)

Tati I know solo players are not the chattiest group of people, but for those that want to chat, here's the place to do it :)

message 2: by [deleted user] (new)

Haha, okay thanks Tati. :)

message 3: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments Thanks, Tati! I haven't had much reading time lately, but I hope to fit in a few this month. :)

message 4: by Tati (new)

Tati I've had a few letdowns playing in teams, so I decided to take a break from teams. I will have half the month off on vacation, so I'm expecting to read quite a bit

message 5: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments I haven't been reading enough to be on a team. Plus I like not stressing about it.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, same here. Besides, the last team I was in didn't have much readers so it was just me doing most of the work. :(

— Massiel (rollitosdecanela) | 2249 comments HI GURRLLSS!

So... Maybe a stupid question but we have to check in? I had never been solo always on a team but I'm pretty tired of team and in October I'll be so busy so I don't wanna let down anyone that's why I ask for solo this challenge.

Nice to meet you all of you <3! If anyone want to buddy read any of these book https://www.goodreads.com/review/list... let me know :D I think it fits some challenges, I'm doing this challenge to chill so I won't be competitive at all.

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

Honestly, I'm going to chill and have fun too Haha! I want to do Poison Study, too but I'm not sure when since I already have 4 books lined up so I can't make any promises. :(

message 9: by Tanaz (new)

Tanaz Masaba (tanazmasaba) | 310 comments Checking in...er...do we do that here? My first time doing solo :p

I had the same ques. And same here--I'll be busy during October because of college. Also doing all these team challenges have kind of put me into a slump :p I want to read slow and steady for this month

message 11: by Tati (new)

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes. Really relaxing. Haha. It will be good to be on my own pace for once. What books are you all planning to to read this coming month?

message 17: by Tawallah (new)

Tawallah | 995 comments This is the chattiest I’ve seen the solo group being. Sorry most of you have been having a rough times on teams. But I think most people who choose solo just want to do challenge without being stressed to read. Whatever your reason for joining solo, welcome.

message 18: by — Massiel (new)

— Massiel (rollitosdecanela) | 2249 comments @June To be honest, all these challenges are super competitive so... When you join a team you know you'll be stress

message 19: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments I'll be reading reading Edgedancer by Brandon Sanderson and The Whispering Room by Dean Koontz.

message 20: by Tati (new)

Tati October has a loooooot of books coming out for me. Some are below

Origin (Robert Langdon, #5) by Dan Brown The Ship of the Dead (Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, #3) by Rick Riordan Ally (Nemesis #2) by Anna Banks Ringer (Replica, #2) by Lauren Oliver Into the Bright Unknown (The Gold Seer Trilogy, #3) by Rae Carson Played (Gridiron, #4) by Jen Frederick

Not to mention what I already own

message 21: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments One of my friends keeps telling me I need to read the Magnus Chase books. I need to get there eventually.

Well I am a moody reader so I hardly ever end up sticking to my plans but I want to finish the first book of each of these series this month

Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush, #1) by Becca Fitzpatrick Marked (House of Night, #1) by P.C. Cast Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children, #1) by Ransom Riggs Red Rising (Red Rising, #1) by Pierce Brown

It's like I was really happy with my teams from last month and this month--Vienetta and Liqourice--but team challenges are competitive. And I know I won't have time for being competitive this coming month or the next.

Besides, do you guys ever find yourselves falling into a slump after reading too many books?

message 24: by Tawallah (new)

Tawallah | 995 comments Definitely, once I’ve read a lot of books in one month, I find it hard to push myself to remain consistent the next month. I admire those who can read over 200 books a year.

I choose solo to read at my pace and still enjoy the challenge.

Same here. Usually I read around 12-24 books a year. That's how slow I am ;'D This year though I am two books ahead of my 50 books challenge and I am pretty sure that only happened because of the team challenges I have been doing lol

What's on your TBR for October?

message 28: by Dr. Andy (new)

Dr. Andy | 14480 comments Edit-A have you/are you going to read Tower of Dawn? It's about your favorite person in the Throne of Glass series. :))))))

message 29: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments I usually read around 100 books a year. Sometimes more. But I read quite a few long books, so I don't set a high goal for numbers.

Not really sure, even tho I got it. Since I kind of gave up on the series, but because of my habit, I have to come back to it one day... but I am not ready yet :D

message 31: by Tawallah (new)

Tawallah | 995 comments @ Tanaz, I’m a mood reader so things change quickly. The definite books I’m going to read are
- The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
-Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys
And maybe Gone with the Wind, but that’s a door stopper.

I have never read them. How are you liking them?

message 44: by Tanaz (new)

Tanaz Masaba (tanazmasaba) | 310 comments I am reading Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira . So far it's pretty good.

message 45: by C.P. (new)

C.P. Cabaniss (cpcabaniss) | 3665 comments That's one that I've been thinking about reading for a long time, Tanaz. Maybe one day I will actually get to it.

message 46: by Tati (new)

Tati And of course I decide to start the month with a massive book...

message 47: by [deleted user] (new)

Wait, which one are you reading this month?

message 48: by Tati (new)

Tati Me? I've started off the month with A Column of Fire (Kingsbridge, #3) by Ken Follett

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)

Hm, I haven't read that one. How is it?
