From behind the scenes, the group moderators been working to put together a folder for publishers of mysteries, crime fiction and thrillers. What we're envisioning is a space where publishers can let the group know what's current or up and coming in these genres, and whatever other info they'd like to share. We also see it as a place for our group members to interact with the publishers.

Hayes, Donna, Bill and I all hope that as readers, you will take advantage of this special opportunity. We have a few publishers on board already , and with your support,if this turns out to be successful, we can hopefully bring on more as time goes on. If you have a publishing company contact you'd like to share the news with, indie or otherwise, all the better -- just please let one of us know. Thanks!

Tom Graves | 8 comments Greetings fans of vintage crime fiction! I am Tom Graves, one of the publishers of a new imprint, Chalk Line Books, which is devoted exclusively to vintage crime fiction. I imagine many of you are fans of Black Lizard Press and the great reprints they brought back. We are hoping to be the ebook equivalent of Black Lizard. Our first two titles are Sharecropper Hell by the great Jim Thompson and The Secret Squad by David Goodis. Both books are humdingers, let me tell you. All Chalk Line Books contain 10 evocative illustrations and we promise our fans and readers that each book is well proofread and edited so the reading experience is as pleasurable as possible. Coming this fall will be another Jim Thompson classis, The Killing by Lionel White which was made into a fine noir film by Stanley Kubrick, and many more. We'd love to hear from you and have you visit our web site at: http://chalklinebooks.weebly.com/ Say, don't forget to be added to our media list for updates on our new offerings, promotions, cool t-shirts, etc. We are so glad to know each of you!

Tom Graves | 8 comments P.S. -- Our books are also available as audiobooks, read by the esteemed voice actor Mike Dennis who does quiet menace as good as anyone. These titles can be found on the Audible web site. If you have trouble finding them, let us know and we'll help you.

Hi Tom! Thanks! Scroll down to "Publishers' Corner" and you'll see that I've made you your own thread!

On a personal note, I've read two of Chalk Line's offerings -- one by Jim Thompson and one by David Goodis, both of which were beyond good.

Michele Orwin (httpgoodreadscombaconpressbooks) | 11 comments Hello and very glad I found you all. Bacon Press Books is about to publish our first crime/mystery novel in September. It's called Identity Thief (no links yet) by JP Bloch. While we're new to the genre, the writer is a seasoned pro with a bent toward noir.

Michele Orwin (httpgoodreadscombaconpressbooks) | 11 comments Gail, I'm with you on preferring mysteries without violence and gore, but as a publisher, I have to be a little more open-minded than I am as a reader.

Rowena Hoseason | 90 comments Hi folks!
We've just released the latest JJ Stoner quick thriller; Third Person which is available worldwide via Amazon. Think it should appeal to you guys...

A target is being stalked through rain-soaked city streets. Someone is seeking JJ Stoner, independent operative, covert investigator and occasional contract killer.

Caution is advised: with Stoner you often get more than you bargain for and this is Ireland, not so very long after the Good Friday agreement. That places a lethal person in an explosive situation.

The cease-fires are holding firm, so far, but someone wants to put a cat among the peace process pigeons…

----------

There are two earlier JJ Stoner stories in the same series, although they all work as stand-alone independent stories so you could read them in any order.
First Contract
Two Wrongs

(Hope this is the right place to post the info!)
