Well.. What are your thoughts on the ending? Do you think you'll carry on with the series?

series?!?!? what?!?!?

This is going to be a series? I'd definitely read more!

The ending was too perfect. It left nothing open ended and so I don't have any reason to continue with the series!

But the rest of the series is just as good as the first book. There are other characters to follow on their journey and the third book is amazing.

The rest of the series except for the last book is already out. Each book follows a new character while also bringing old characters too. She makes so that each book could also possibly be a stand alone

I loved this book when I first read it fall of 2007. After rereading it I can't wait to dive I to the series.

I read the book last year, and I didn't realize Ellen was a warrior until it was announced.

I read this book a while ago and I own the whole series so I know at some point i'll continue on with it. I thought the first book was okay it wasn't the most amazing thing ever but it wasn't horrible. I've heard such great things about this series so I am excited to keep reading. I hope it gets a little more interesting.

My favorite part of the book was the ending. I wish the book was a little more action packed though.

Boring book.... I don't know how unread it so fast... I just wanted to get it over with!

I just got to the part where Ellen is revealed AND I KNEW IT! Jack kept making comments about how fit she was and gah!! How can they fight?! Argh!

First, I love that the "normal" people are called anaweir, playing on the familiar word "unaware". Loved the cleverness of it!

Second, loved the twist with Ellen! That was amazing!

Will and Fitch were also my two favorite characters. I loved the friendship between them and jack!

This was as good as I remembered it to be. I enjoyed rereading so much.

I stayed up last night finishing this book and overall I have to say I liked it. Adding the next book to my TBR.

The book started off pretty rocky to me, but I must say I was happy with it in the end. Usually fantasy isn't for me, but I was happy with the ending. I didn't love it enough that I'll continue with the series, but it was an okay read.

What just happens I finished the book in an hour or so and I need to say this I went into the book not knowing a thing and I am sooo glad I did.

Finished, loved it again. Keep reading, the series is great!

I just finished it and I was so happy I read it. I most definitely continue on with the series, but I do wonder what else can happen since everything seems okay...

For some reason I didn't really enjoy this book as much as I thought I would... I didn't like the backstory as much as other fantasy books and the characters weren't all that great, either. I'm not sure if I want to continue on with this series... Maybe I'll try the sequel and decide then.

I just finished the book and the whole time I kept thinking "When will it end already?" Overall, the story was a bit dry for me. I'm not sure if I want to read the entire series.

Yes thats true! But the two newest books that Mrs. Chima added to the original trilogy have a whole different plot line even though its in the same wizard world :/

I thought this book was good, but not great. The world-building was poorly done, and while I liked the overall story it seemed as if the pieces didn't all fit together very nicely. I'll be mulling this over and then giving it a full review, but my rating is 3.5 stars.

Love these books. Going to reread the next two in the series. Now that we have background there not as slow.

I was really excited about this book as soon as i started it. However, the twist at the end.. i dont know, i was expecting something else. Before that i would have rated it 4 stars but now its 3 stars for me. Good but not great as i thought it would be.
Anyway i liked this world so ill continue the series sometime in the future (:

I can't believe that I didn't see that twist at the end! I mean it was so obvious! I have to say, I enjoyed this book so much more than I thought I would!

I really enjoyed the last couple of chapters! They were very interesting and tied everything together. I liked how ellen was also a warrior and how they tied all the warriors coming back and lee and Susannah, and re-writing the rules. I really enjoyed the last hundred or so pages of this book very much. I think that I will probably continue on with the rest of this series in the future.

I thought the ending was a bit cheesy honestly, which dropped my initial rating of 3.5 stars down to 3 stars. I still enjoyed most of the second half of the story however, so I may pick up the Wizard Heir someday, but not anytime soon.

For me, this ending was not only satisfying, but also my favorite part of the book. I wish the whole book had been as exciting and action packed as the last few chapters. All in all, I'm glad I got around to reading this book and I'm excited to find out what happens later on in the series!

For me most of the book as this overly long build up. And I'm curious as to how this was made into a 5 book series.

Also... What do you think the relation ship with Susannah and Snowbeard is? I hope we find out sooner rather than later. Maybe Snowbeard is her dad or uncle or something. Idk

I WAS RIGHT ELLEN WAS A WARRIOR!! I loved the ending and will definitely continue on with this series! I felt like this book wasn't as thought out as other books I have read but it was still amazing. I like her Seven Realms Series a lot more though.

The biggest issue was the pacing.This book was just good not anything amazing or extrodianary

The ending was by far my favorite part, I really wish the rest of the book was as exciting and fast-paced, or else it would have been more of a fun read for me.

I really liked this book and am definitely going to read the others!! It wasn't exciting at all times but good intro to their world and the ending was awesome.

The ending was too clean (and cheesy) for me. It's too perfect and it happened too easily. Not that it has to have loose ends but there was no effort needed to change the rules when it did finally happen and that bothered me a bit.

Sorry, I have to put down this book for good. It's been too painful to finish it.

I don't know but I think that they slipped away to easily from killing each others, didnt convinced me at all, and the reasons they didn't wanted to kill each others? it was like empty, like not a good reason at all, they we're like "oh! I like this boy/girl what if I don't kill him/her and we breed instead! We could get both of us killed but who cares! we're going to die some day anyway!" it looks for me like if it was going to be a single book but then she decided to write more and more. I liked the book but it doesn't seem to me like the great book you guys described on your reviews.

and of course my favorite character of all is Hastings, oh and Will
