I didn't think I was a dystopian fan myself but I did enjoy the Hunger Games and Divergent. I don't think you can really compare those with the Legend series though. They are vastly different in a number of ways. I am quickly becoming a fan of dystopia...lol I think you should give this one a try since it is very different and really well written.

Allegiant sucked.
At least this series had a better ending. (view spoiler)

What things do you think it overcomes that others don't? Just curious...
I really liked this one. I finished it a few days ago and went to the library and got the next 2 books today. Can't wait to get started.

I actually appreciated more the dystopian world genre after reading the series. First, it's very much different to THG (bc most are copycats in some ways). Very refreshing. Then of course, Legend's world is so much believable than others. I think its most likely to happen. Ha. The plot twists are great. The main characters (June esp) are so logical ;) And yes, the conclusion. (Others were disaster and tried to kill many characters we love.) Champion is the best. :)

I agree, Allegiant was a major let down. This series is amazing and had such a clever ending, although it did make me a bit sad to be honest.

Pamela, read the rest of the trilogy. It's amazing

So I've heard! =D Waiting for the right time to buy it.

I could not put it down and was in love with Day and June (I mean how can you not love them?)

You should, the story unfolds further in a realistic way and gets even better! A MUST

What was once the western United States is now home to the Republic, a nation perpetually at war with its neighbors.
Born into an elite family in one of the Republic's wealthiest districts, fifteen-year-old June is a prodigy being groomed for success in the Republic's highest military circles. Born into the slums, fifteen-year-old Day is the country's most wanted criminal. But his motives may not be as malicious as they seem.
From very different worlds, June and Day have no reason to cross paths - until the day June's brother, Metias, is murdered and Day becomes the prime suspect. Caught in the ultimate game of cat and mouse, Day is in a race for his family's survival, while June seeks to avenge Metias's death. But in a shocking turn of events, the two uncover the truth of what has really brought them together, and the sinister lengths their country will go to keep its secrets.
