anyone can lead me toward a book for a young man in jail? i'm looking for something he can identify with (he's a white middle-class boy) that might also help him make sense of his rather directionless life. sherman alexie is the only writer who comes to mind, but i wouldn't even know what, exactly. help?

May I ask what is he in jail for? Do you want self help books, or more like success stories of people who have risen above it all? Or books based similar on his own story?
