Readers Create is a collaborative online project which allows readers to shape and give input into short stories written by participating authors. Authors who opt to write a short story can connect with readers on whatever social media platform they prefer, including Goodreads readers groups.
Through a series of polls, they will ask their readers for guidance with genre, sub-genre, setting, and tropes for their short story(ies). For specific plot and character elements, the author can use polls or take input directly from their readers. Note that all readers whose ideas are used should be thanked in the Acknowledgments page at the end of the story.
The author can publish their story on its own, as part of a collection of short stories, or as part of a Readers Create anthology with other participating authors. Authors have total freedom as far as how much to charge and which platforms to publish with.
Readers Create also encourages readers who have not written before to start writing with a short story that they will be able to get advice on as they go. This would be an easier entry point into writing than trying to complete a full novel.
